    I just double-checked. Seems this Rabinsky guy (who backs Hrunov for Wlad - Povetkin) wasn't involved in Huck - Afolabi III, but in Lebendev - Jones which is slated for May in Moscow.

    I mixed them up, my bad.

    Doesn't mean he won't default on this bid, but I found nothing indicating that he was behind Don King's Huck bid.

    If this fight is in Russia maybe some of us can get a job with CHEF trying to make sure Wlad isn't poisoned/gassed/run over by a beer truck before the fight. He's gonna need help cuz you KNOW someone is going to be desperate to protect that investment in Povetkin. Where do I sign up? Second thought, no hiding from the Putin influence in Russia. Wlad is as good as dead. :D

    It seems K2 was not aware of Hryunov's and only focused on guarding Sauerland's probable bid.

    Even if they were aware of him, their bid would never exceed 16m, and that's me estimating high. So Hryunov just threw 7m on the garbage there.

    The situation is, will the fight generate more than 23 million to allow everybody to get paid?

    It doesn't seem likely.

    The total ammount of revenue attainable for this one seems between 15m and 20million, that's my guess.

    The high purse bid might not be even an issue for Russians. I think it's more political than anything - now they will control where the fight happens and I bet it will be in Moscow. Russia and Ukraine have been on the knives for a while now and Ukrainian domination of the Heavyweight scene has not gone unnoticed by Russian boxing fans. The battles that rage on Russian-Ukrainian forums are epic.
    If I was Wlad (and I am by name) I would be extremely cautious about my stay in Moscow as Russians are not planing on a loss and would want to make a statement.
