Definitely going to give this one a read. It was indeed the Golden Age of heavyweights.

It would sell more copies to ESB members if it was titled:

"The Jimmy Young Era: Heavyweight Boxing in the 1970s, including Philly's finest and some other guys"

What a trip down memory lane! I am currently reading this book and I highly recommend it! Well crafted and well written. It is one of the best boxing books I have read. I find myself going on Youtube to see some of the fights written about in the book. I became a fan starting in about 1972 when I was 10 years old. Not a lot of fights were on TV back then, many I had to read about in Boxing magazines such as World Boxing, International Boxing and The Ring. I wish Joe Ryan would write another book about the other divisions, some great lighter weight fighters back then, Bob Foster, Carlos Monzon, Jose Napoles, Robert Duran, etc.
