Yap. Bute is working his butt off.

Do or die fight for Bute.

    No excuses.

This fight is going to define the way we look back on Bute's career, on his quality as a fighter, and on his moral fibre and character as a man more than any other, the Froch fight included. :deal

    :D

Not my view, so I'm allowed to post it, right?

    Martin Dion, Montreal Boxing journalist

    http://www.rds.ca/combat/boxe/bute-n-est-pas-pascal-1.612568

    Auto-Translation:

The main Montreal media were invited to attend training camp Lucian Bute in West Palm Beach, Florida. My colleague Jean-Luc Legendre was there and had the opportunity to conduct interviews with all members of the team InterBox.

You know my interest in the sport. I listened to all these interviews. Viewing all the images our cameraman was able to capture. I read all the statements made by the Bute team. After this exercise, something catches my eye: Lucian Bute was not himself.

    "I can be mean! "

"I want to shut him up! "

Alone in believing that these sentences are not hers am I? Are we asked him to say that? Is it part of the strategy? Or he decided to play the same "game" that Jean Pascal launching attacks the opponent through the media?

Jean Pascal is the king of inflammatory statements! It is unique. He is very active on twitter and there is only one who can set fire to the powder and make people react. It is in his personality! Lucian Bute should not embark on this game, it is not size. It is too nice and too polite. It's not at all kind.

Lucian also mentioned that he was motivated like never before! It had been years since he had not felt as well, ever since his rematch against Librado Andrade in 2009. I can understand that he was not motivated against Jesse Brinkley, Brian Magee, Jean Paul Mendy and even Denis Grachev. But that was not the motivation before his duel with Glen Johnson and especially against Carl Froch?? How is this possible? If this is true, it explains a little the result of the fight ...

Another point that bothers me. The Romanian said he began to regain his confidence. Whether working with a psychologist to rebuild. I remind him that we are less than five weeks duel against Jean Pascal? Will he really ready to jump when the ring on May 25?

I know there's a lot of money at stake for both boxers as promoters. Boxing is first and foremost a business . But would it not have been better Lucian fight another fight precisely in order to regain his confidence?

In short, several questions remain unanswered for now. This is perhaps the beauty of boxing! Too often we can predict with closed eyes the winner of a fight. This time, there is an interest. Victory can go from one side to the other.

We should know pretty quickly if the fight Bute still has scars from his crushing defeat at the hands of Froch. If he can take a punch without flinching Pascal and demonstrate his usual fluidity (throw combinations), it will gain more confidence and the fight progresses, the more it will turn to his advantage. If the shots do Pascal slightest pain, the evening will be short ...

Jean Pascal is a sprinter. Lucian Bute is a marathon runner. This is where the battle will play out.

    -----------

Hope Dion is wrong. Hope I am wrong.

I agree that Bute should of had one more "tune-up" fight before fighting Pascal.

Pascal is a real beast. Bute is in for a rough night.

    "I can be mean! "

"I want to shut him up! "

He said this prior to a fight that means his career and that makes him "not polite at all"?

FFS maybe that what he needs. Weren't you the one who was saying that this was wrong against Froch. That he was to polite ? To much of a nice guy ?

Ps: he doesn't build that neck like crazy for nothing. It's visible the thickness increase.

I think he meant Bute's trash-talk wasn't genuine and hence didn't suit him.

Is Bute feigning a passion that isn't there? I am inclined to think not. Bute is always dead-pan in these statements, and he said it against Andrade too, before the rematch, and you could see his heartless, uncaring celebration when Andrade was lying down in pain.

Then, like now, Bute doesn't hate his opponent, it's not personal, but he does personify his burning desire to prove his critics wrong, and in that sense, I think he is genuine.

When Bute came in to fight Froch, when he touched gloves, he had that friendly and polite look in his eye, as if he was going to dance with Froch. On the other and, Froch had the look of a ******.

Bute needs to get mean here. If somebody throws him a flag, he needs to pick it the **** up and not stare at it like a deer. He needs to get into the ring with bad intentions!!

In the Andrade rematch, he boxed well and there was a fairytale ending. What people sometimes forget is that in the second and third rounds he looked like he was going to get himself knocked out. No matter how motivated and well-prepared Bute will be, the first couple of rounds will spell great danger. He needs to be mean but more importantly than that, he needs to be very smart and composed in the first few rounds, if he wants to have a chance of winning. My view. And notice: no negativity!:deal

Surely they would want Bute to win because then, the Froch win over Bute is evern better, no?

Anyway, that's not true. There are loads of people on this site who prefer Pascal to Bute. e.g. PH|LLA.

No because the one who gave him a tough fight was Pascal, so the fans would want that man to do his best, and be second only to Froch.

I'm wating for the 3rd example, that's a not English.
