Peter Fury on twitter just answered my question.

    "yes it could happen."

I assume that they're at least in preliminary talks, doubt it's a done deal.

If promoted correctly this could do big numbers for Five- I still have my doubts that Fury wants this fight at this stage of his career.

Imagine the banter in the build up to this, would be hilarious.

Way too early for Tyson is this. Haye would ice him in a few rounds.

I must be the only one who thinks Tyson takes this.He will whether any storm Haye throws at him and then break him down on the inside similar to what he did with Cunningham.

Only problem is when Haye floors him like Cunningham did, he won't be getting back up from it.

Fighting David Haye is possibly a better option for Tyson Fury than going into an eliminator against Kubrat Pulev.

I'd expect both Haye and Pulev to beat Fury. But the Haye fight will pay a lot better.

I certainly wouldn't write Fury's chances off though. Haye's not exactly a great fighter either.

We don't know until it happens.
    There's no exact science.

Haye has a fool-proof defence against clinching anyway :

Haye would murder Fury once he gets underneath those long arms, Tyson is made for Haye from a styles point of view.

If Tyson can weather any storms then of course he could get to Haye late on but you don't weather the kind of punches Haye throws - they are super hard and fast, not the type of punches you take flush and shake off.

Don't do it Tyson fella. Might be something you don't recover from, at least mentally.

I dont think Fury respected Cunninghams power,he will box differently against Haye.I dont think one shot will be enough to puit Fury out either and Haye will be punching up which takes away leverege and power one of the reasons Mike Tyson struggled to put away much taller men.

If Vitali retires this fight for the vacant title makes sense. I wonder who will broadcast it?

With the exception of Khan, Fury and Haye are by far the most known British boxers. The amount of hype it would create would be huge with their personalities.

If Channel 5 got then the viewers would be huge.

But this is boxing where greed cripples everything.
