Fight will eventually happen. Pacquiao made his fame fighting names, why shouldn't Alvarez take the same path? Unfortunately the washed up names like DLH, Hatton, Morales, Barrera, Margarito aren't as plentiful.

Cotto does not do well against offensive fighters. He cannot take advantage of Canelo's lack of stamina since he doesnt have great stamina himself. In addition, he is a chinny and that is not a good thing against Canelo. Let's not forget he has been in a steady decline and is past his best years. Stylistically and logically, its not looking good for Cotto.

This was already supposed to happen but Trout threw a ****** wrench in the entire thing. Mayweather will not fight Alvarez until next cinco de mayo 2014...Bet that! Alvarez needs to fight Cotto in what would be his first PPV headlined fight against a solid veteran hall of fame fighter.

IMO Canelo is going to KO Miguel Cotto within 10 rounds if they ever do fight.....

Floyd who is a WW in the 12th round of a tough fight buckled Cottos entire body with an uppercut. Cotto is easily hittable and he wont box and move like a Mayweather or Trout would.

Cotto has his mind on fighting a few more times before retiring, but he needs to take on an easier fight than Canelo coming off of back-to-back losses to see where he's at. If he jumps in there with Canelo right off the bat, I think that'll be the end of his career.

Makes too much sense from a promotional point of view. I'd prefer Floyd fought him sooner than later, but good grief is September a short amount of time for how much they'd probably prefer to go all out in building and hyping the fight. At the same time, a full year away seems :tired

You can't spell "cash out" without C, T, and O. Cotto's taking this one purely for one last big payday before he hangs them up.

canelo would get ZERO credit for fighting a guy coming off back to back losses, regardless if he is a future hall of famer...he has been getting his ass kicked latley and isnt a junior middle
