Granted Tyson would have had to stay outa trouble, and kept it together mentally ( which isnt likely )...but if they had rematched within 6 months after the fight in Japan what happens to Mike? and what happens to the HW division at that time?...And if Mike wins the second fight is Holy is the next man to beat him?

Yes but i don't remember exactly which thread. My opinion is if he won against Douglas he would then lose to Holyfield due to the fact that he had lost a lot of his motivation by that point and didn't have a good trainer. The rest of his career plays almost exactly the same.

IF he wins the second fight with Buster...Your right..he still loses to Evander..No doubt everyone will agree with that...and then the rest is already history....( Whats funny is the Fab 4 thread was my very first thread I ever posted )...So i must be on a roll devon!

He wins the rematch. I'm going to assume that Tyson gets hurt in training for the rubber natch like he did in training for Holyfieild in 1991. Holyfeild beats Douglas. Tyson and Holyfeild are schulded to meat Holyfeild in late 1991, but He's arested for **** (and later convicted) in July. Everything else pretty much remains the same.

So we may have never got the chance to see Iron fight Holy if he did get the Buster rematch...

A rematch within 6 months : If Buster Douglas becomes motivated to prove that it was no fluke the first time, with the confidence of having known he knocked the guy out before, he probably beats Tyson again.
It's not like he won on a one-punch, he administered a sustained beating, out-boxed and out-fought his rival.

In that scenario, he likely regains the lineal title, and goes to prison holding it.

This would effectively have left the title in limbo for three years.

We should be grateful that Douglas reneged on his contract, and opted for the Holyfield fight instead.

The rematch did not happen for a reason. Don King was guiding Tyson and he wanted to rebuild Tyson and make a mega fight once Tyson had a string of wins and could command a bigger share of a showdown. This was how King blew the 1980s with alternative champions to Larry Holmes, he kept trying to build one of them up into n undefeated FOTC match up for Holmes but the beltholders kept losing to whoever was Holmes's latest number one contender. With Tyson King finaly had a number one contender who could keep winning so Tyson was never getting that rematch and Douglas was always going to lose to the next guy.
