Yeah thats the cuban i was talking about lost by 4 points i thought it was bit closer than that and he started slowly
he got outclassed in that match but made up for it by winning the Olympics, although nevin did him afavour and took care of alverez
A proper nice lad. I hope he proves himself in the professional ranks. I also hope he simply gets down to the job in hand and doesnt think he is a superstar before he actually is. Needs a strong trainer and manager.
John Joe Nevin gave him a hiding in the 09 European championships I think it was, shows how improved he is that he got a clear win over Nevin in London
He is not the type of lad to think he's a superstar, I promise. He's been supported in our local rag since he was 14 and has always maintained a humble, hard working attitude. I think he'll need a few adjustments to compete at the top level of the pro ranks, his range has been very useful for scoring during the amateurs but he's a guy worth supporting, I hope he can make the right changes and have a good career.
No offence mate but that's total crap imo, there was loads of good fights in the Olympics and plenty of guys who would make great pros.
Bored of hearing people saying he uses classic amatuer style and that wont suit pro he doesnt set his feet ect ect why would he if he was winning medals doing what he was doing?? Obviously he will need to change his game learn new things but class is class and im sure he will adapt
