Poppin off at the mouth that did me make me laugh that one :good Gentlemen, **** biased, hollow rankings from corrupt sanctioning bodies or Golden Boy Promotions monthly drivel. Was in your opinions Antonio De Marco the definitive number one fighter in the Lightweight division at the time of Broner De Marco, and has Adrien Broner beaten the top guys at 135? Thought so :yep
Well at least fighting those guys will be a step up from the gavin rees fight which was an absolute joke.
I said from the moment it was announced I didn't like the jump to 147. If he beats Paulie, he'll have to go back to 140 or everyone will call him a ducker forever for skipping a whole division. If he planned on going to 140 there's no reason to face the champion Paulie except to make the most money possible. He'll have to vacate the title to go back to 140, taking it off Paulie for no reason. Then there'll be dumbasses who say he struggled with Paulie and 147 so he went back to 140 scared... Even though they'd say he ducked 140 if he stayed at 147. The fight screams 'money motivated'.. I know he has to fight someone, but man he's inviting a lot of criticism with his move..
Broner might as well retire if he's going to make decisions based on trying to satisfy his critics. This guy could be a 4 division champ by the age of 24. He's also an emerging star making really good money. He needs to keep doing what he's doing.
Not saying he should make career decisions on pleasing his critics the most, just saying he shouldn't do the opposite. I can't find any justification for him facing a champion in his first fight two weight classes above his... He got this fight because it's a money maker with two good **** talkers with good records. I just think if he couldn't find someone at 140 and really wanted to face a 147lber he should have faced someone who's not champion. And I'm a big fan, not usually a critic. :thumbsup
I don't care if you're a fan or a critic. To me, it makes zero sense to take on a no named fighter without a title when you can take on a named fighter with a title. This fight gives Broner a chance to build up his name, his bank account, and his legacy. What other fight available would've accomplished all 3? I really don't understand the thought process amongst a lot of people in this thread.
I think that Paulie is a good fight for Broner and it won't be a cakewalk. Paulie is from Brookland and he loves to talk ****. That geeks him up for a fight and he will be ready to battle. I don't think he fears Broners power or his boxing skills. Paulie got some slick skills himself and he wants to school Broner. He's got two inches on Broner and will have the weight advantage on fight night. It's going to be an interesting fight and a feather in Broners cap if he is successful. Not guaranteed.
Nobody said no named fighter, just a fighter without a title. How many other fighters are there at 147? Why should Broner get to jump up 2 weight classes and take on a champion while there's been people at the weight fighting, trying to work their way up? This fight was made because Broner is popular and it will make a lot of money, that's it. Nobody knows how he'll perform at the weight, I just haven't heard any justification for him getting the title shot, besides his name being Adrien Broner and popular. I understand it's a great move for Broner. I'm not talking about that.. I'm saying in boxing overall, he didn't deserve the shot.
You can do better than that. Now we're supposed to make fights based on what fighters deserve it? That's a completely subjective standard. Guys jump weights for title fights all the time. Malignaggi has an optional title defense. Broner is one the biggest names in the sport and he presents Paulie with the highest financial opportunity. There's absolutely no justification for denying Paulie this fight, the same goes for Broner.
i believe him wen he says he didnt want no part of broner. ricky would of been more vocal about the fight if he wanted it.
Ajose Olesegun would of been a good option at 140lbs as a "warm up" for that weight. I don't see the point of going to 147 only to come down to 140 after fighting Paulie. If he is going to fight and stay at 147, good, atleast it will put him in line for a Mayweather fight but he is not. What if he KO Paulie? :think Would they blame him of using PEDs, after all he was fighting at 126 just a few fights ago? :think
no way ajose just lost an took a beating. broner is legit he aint fightin nowone coming off a loss. an wouldnt that be only a 10rd fight. broner aint fight 10rd fight hes gunna always be in 12rd fights.
