I thought Belforts win over Anthiny Johnson was truly first class, although slightly marred by the quick stand ups from the referee. But yes have to agree, Wandy is still his greatest win all things considered. I think Belfort has another big win in him before the lights go out, he was fractions away from making one count against Anderson until he got placed in MMA history for the wrong reasons
Shocking to think about really, but the gap between the Wandy and the Rich (his 2nd biggest maybe? Randy by a fluke cut on the eye lid doesn't have a case for me) is immense Or maybe the Herring win fills the gap, but only slightly, but yeah, its his biggest win
I seen the post and thought no surely not but Wanderlei is still his best win, all things considered. Puzzling but true
And Wandy was a year or two short of becoming ''The Axe Murderer'' also in 98. ****ing mind blowing really
Will Roy Nelson bully the stand up against Check Kongo? Bull rush, short sharp explosions? - equals his best chance of scoring a TKO IMO Will Kongo come out and wrestle, or does he place too much faith in his wooden / mechanical stand up, can he jab Roy Nelson to a decision? or open him for a double leg.
Underhooks and knees to the belly for 15 minutes I think, Kongo is on a one man mission to prove the slick blackness doesnt exist in France If Roy had Kongos athleticism whilst keeping his own skill set, heart and chin, you'd have helluva fighter...but alas, short of something landing from Big Country early or even Roy pulling guard from the clinch, on paper this is a snooze fest
Where do you rank his stoppage of Bisping? I think that was a pretty good win. Bisping was looking decent of late and apparently closing in on a title shot, and he got stomped. I know Bisping isn't exactly Fedor, but he's proven to be a consistent top 10 middleweight, the performances against Sonnen and Stann were good, if unspectacular, and he goes to town on lower-level mw's like Mayhem and Rivera.
I know where Manila is coming from with Belfort's win against Johnson. It was damn inspirational. Belfort comes ready for the middleweight limit and ends up fighting a ****ing heavyweight on fight night.
My God, I just had a dream that Roy Nelson was addicted to heroin and he was about to beat me up for some unknown reason !
That's quite a rosy view of Rich's career. Do you really get into the Hall Of Fame for three wins in title fights, over Evan Tanner, David Loiseau and Nate Quarry?
I am a MMA purist thank you very much and have the battle scars to prove it. Rich Franklin also has wins over HoF fighters like Liddell, Ken Shamrock and even Scurla's favorite and one of mine as well - Wanderlai Silva x2.
