Source: Marquez vs. Bradley official. Marquez on quest to become first Mexican to win 5 in 5

The Marquez article includes a bit about Pacquiao, and another damned catch weight.

Nothing wrong with catch weights. I don't really even recognize all the junior and super divisions. Catch weights just allow both fighters to make weight easier.

Don't really think this makes much of a difference, Alvarado or whoever are fighting at 140 anyway and in the ring are bigger than pacquaio anyway.

Why should there be a catchweight? They're all the same size and noone would have to come in at the limit of 147 if they don't want they can weigh less anyway so why a goddamn catchweight?

Seems unnecessary. Stupid but probably doesn't change much either way.

It's no big deal. It's not like this is the same as what happened with De la Hoya. Alvarado and Rios already come in the ring close to 160 or so (forgot what their weights were). It'll be easier for them to make weight too fighting above 140.

PAC came in at 147 the past 2 fights. If anything it's a disadvantage for him.

How? JMM KO'd Manny weighing in around 144, and Alvarado just fought at 140. Bradley might have an issue but he's not naturally big either.
