Sykes is flapping down with the right hand as he dives in, then pushing the jab for cover as he backs out. Kays begins to counter him with short counters while hopping back to dodge Sykes' flailing swats. Kays is shuffling around Sykes, making him miss. Sykes flurries straight out, gets blocked, and grabs to quickly toss Kays toward the ropes. He can't keep him there. Kays ducks a flurry and pops Sykes in the face with a straight right coming up.

Round 4

Sykes is busier, throwing wavy rights behind a backhanded jab. Kays is making him miss a large majority sliding back and to the side and countering with short jabs and 1-2s. Nice steady balance by Kays, blocking when Sykes swoops in with uppercuts.

Round 5

Sykes is diving in with jabs and slicing right hands to the body. Kays is giving ground, putting up the high left jab over Sykes' head, not landing as many counters. Good body work by Sykes moving in and out.

Round 6

Sykes is burying his chin to his chest and drilling himself into Kays' midsection, throwing wide body shots and ramming his skull in toward him. Kays flees and floats the jab, trying to avoid wild exchanges. Sykes gives him no choice but to indulge him in a few, staying low and rushing him to the ropes. Down-and-up hooking flurries by Sykes. Kays slides his back along the ropes as Sykes thumps either side of him beneath the elbows, Kays' fists nestled in front of his chin anticipating head shots that never come.
