Pacquiao's Imminent Return... and another damned catchweight.

Pac needs a lighter touch after the knock out he had in his last fight. I agree with these top guys fighting smaller guys or boxers who just aren't on their level, it's not ideal.....but at least they are staying active. Broner is stepping up! So while Pac and Floyd aren't, we have the "future" of boxing doing the right thing for where he's trying to go.

 

Definitely doesn't help Pac to have a catch weight under 147 but either guy is a good opponent to help Pac test his psyche. He could be done but Rios and Alvarado arent coming to roll over. Should be a good fight but short.

 

I wonder if the catchweight comes with a rehydration clause, considering both guys rehydrated up to the 160's.

 

Lol this does not help Manny at all. I don't see why people are upset. Manny has to work harder and cut more weight, and his opponent doesn't have to worry about the scale as much, and can focus on training?

 

catchweight makes no sense because its put in by pacquiao yet both mike and rios outweigh him even when they have 140lb fights come fight night..

i guarentee you they put in a rehydration limit

 

Rehydration clauses don't exsist. But Rios and Alvarado aren't like PAC, Hopkins or Floyd....they don't keep their weight under control during down time which means they have to work twice as hard to make weight and most of the time they cut weight without incorporating the right kind of nutrition and training. That's when you see guys balloon up in weight on fight night. When you see guys who only put on a couple pounds....most of the time they are ins peak physical condition.

Well both Alvarado and Rios are big LWW's so I dont see how having a catchweight of..say...144, will be a hindrance to either.

Exactly. Why is a catchweight necessary for a fight with a guy coming up from 140? Pacquiao weighed in @ 147 for his last two fight so it seems that this would hurt him more than anyone else coming up from 140.

The catchweight foolishness coming from the Pacquiao camp is just ****ing stupid...

 

I dont see why theyd use a catchweight ,they didnt use it for bradley. Doesnt really make sense.

But those who are complaining are just full of ******ed. How does a catchweight in this fight in any way benefit pacquiao?? Alvarado's last fight is at 140 , he'll cut less weight this way and either way hes going to reyhydrate to whatever he wants and outweigh pac on fight night.

Werent these same haters saying that Pac was dragging up a "smaller" guy to 147? Now somehow hes trying to get an advantage by giving him a catchweight? Lmao , the stupidity knows no bounds.
