khan doesn't look half the fighter he did under roach.

I think Khan is on the verge of being shot. Yeah he's young but the punishment he's absorbing must of took something out of him now. He's been in some real tough fights.

Khan looked great against Maidana bar the late rounds but since then its all been a downward spiral for him really.

Khan will get KO'd again and retire I expect. I don't see him having much longevity left.

Why the scoffing at the suggestion of Khan being shot?

    Vargas was shot at 25.

He was fighting very negatively for his natural style makeup. I don't think he will be able to adjust fully to a new style.

I personally do think he is shot. The losses and criticisms have eaten away at him similar to Harrison. He seems a confused, afraid, and nervous fighter, even more so now.

The writing is on the wall. His vulnerability is what makes the fights entertaining, and Schaefer and co will of course take advantage of making the fights. Sad but true.

But I worry for Khan. Health wise. The people around him should step in if they cared and want him to remain intact up top for the rest of his life. But they wont. Will they?

    Crying shame.

Yep, under roach i would think with that style he would have a 35-45% chance of victory against garcia, as long as he hold or runs when hurt.

Now under virgil, i would only give him a 10% chance of winning a rematch. His offense is gone and he doesnt have natural instinct to fight countering. Only thing he did do on occasions was run and hold when hurt.

Downhill and i cant suddenly see him fighting the way virgil would like. Too much punishment at young age and he won't be able to enjoy his earnings

Exactly. I can't see Khan in to many more of these grueling encounters. These fights have a lasting effect. Shame though. Khan had all the talent but his ring IQ is not there. He doesn't think in there.

Khan doesn't look the same fighter to me anymore. The Garcia loss was a heavy defeat..

Medically unsafe for him to fight again. Schaefer already talking up a world title shot in December. Garcia? Peterson?

What they want to do, kill him?

The guy is 26 years of age, he has an entire life ahead of him. But the snakes around him will take advantage of his vulnerability and Khan will be the sucker that pays for it for his entire life.

Noticed that he looked weak not just in his punching but physically too. He used to be an athletic power house. Something just looked off with him tonight. No strength in his legs and hand speed didn't seem to be there.

This is my opinion too. Hunter is trying to turn him from a fast, in and out fighter to a slicker, more patient one. That's why he looks caught between styles - what is he is learning now contradicts the way he has fought since he was a child.

The question is can he make the transition? If he can he can potentially get a new lease of life.

IMO his biggest issue is lack of head movement, he's never had it and it's probably a bit late to be learning to stay in range a bit more and move the head.

Is it a coincidence that he looked similar against McCloskey - also done without Ariza.

Regarding shot at 26.Hes fighting at the top level. This Garcia,I think,is at or near it still.Everybodys different.Howard Winstone lost his title to Jose Legra. He beat the same fighter about 2 years previously, close but clear. In between he had 3 fights with Vicente Saldivar.Imo he was a better BOXER than Amir.Dont think hell have had the same gym wars. Not much difference in the ages.Think he was 28,Amir is nearly 27.
