Khan should retire based on him getting hurt? He's the most exciting fighter in BB!

    ha - cheers, I'm a long time reader but never felt the urge to post before. Love the forum but would be even better it if it could be cleared of pricks like him.

    Khan looked awful tonight.

    Time for Amir to:

    A. have one more run at winning a world title;
    B. stay at home and fight 'safe' opponents until GBP can deliver a soft touch of a belt holder; or
    C. retire.

    It means that either your dad had no taste or your mother was a predictably easy touch

    The guy just looks like he can't cut it at world level anymore. Seriously, had he fought Garcia or Peterson tonight he'd have been stopped. No doubt. Had it been Matthyse he'd be stone ****ing dead and in the ground. Even Kell Brook probably would have hurt and finished him because he just can't cope with hooks over the top.

    He's still got lightning speed and balls the size of melons but his defence has got worse if anything, not improved. I honestly believe he's already hit his peak. He hit it against Judah and Maidana which were fantastic wins and performances. Since then he's been making mistakes and slowly by slowly been exposed and shown up.

    He's an entertaining fighter no doubt who it's great to watch but he won't win a world title again in my opinion. If he does it will be a paper belt that Golden Boy hand to him and no one will give a ****.

    He has ask himself what he wants out of this sport now. I find it very hard to see him remain relevant in the elite fights. Golden Boy are likely going to make him an undercard fighter now. The arena tonight was half empty and so was his last fight in the States. If he's going to keep fightng C - B level opponents he won't sell out anything. If he steps back up to fight an A level opponent he'll be stopped, we can't even make a case for him now because tonight he got battered by an old man. Amir needs to decide his future in the sport. Continue on as a fighter that most don't believe in and will likely never win a legitimate title again or bow out now with his health, his money and somewhat of a legacy.

    If he carries on as he probably will then there's absolutely no way he should fight for a world title by the end of the year. On the back of that performance he doesn't even deserve it, never mind the fact he'd likely lose anyway.

    He should go the Buster Douglas route after losing to Holyfield, retired 8-1 fighting B & C Level dudes.

    I don't think Khan should retire but people should be honest about where he is in his career. He's on the decline after losses to Peterson and Garcia, both of which were unfairly brushed under the carpet by Khan fans who didn't want to acknowledge the truth. He then switched to Hunter, who has made him a lesser fighter and working with Conte has built a big, strong upper body yet his legs have lost their strength. Khan himself has made mistakes, the biggest of which was putting his trust into Conte and Hunter, who have not built on the work done by Roach and Ariza but detracted from it.

    Khan doesn't need to retire though. Maybe he should make some more changes in the future, I don't know, but I don't think he'll ever be a world champion again if things stay the same. Hunter hasn't improved Khan at all, so maybe a switch to a Garcia, Diaz or Richardson could work. I wouldn't rule it out for myself if I was him, because staunchly sticking with a flawed trainer will only result in another loss.

    Tonight was horrible for Khan though. Diaz is an old, light hitting fighter who was never world class in his prime, regardless of how many paper belts he's held, yet he was able to win rounds, hurt Khan and have him running away in the later rounds. It was very, very poor. Khan was taking flush shots from the first round and his lack of a defence from a left hook was appalling. Khan should have blown Diaz away or at least shut him out. Instead, it was a laboured performance against a distinctly average fighter.

    Is Khan done? No, but he will be unless he changes things.

    Talk of him not fighting till December,thats 8 months.Is he going straight into a title fight?Cant see it.He looks on the slide to me,but Id love to be proved wrong,because I like the lad.Always in good fights against top men.His last 2 were supposed to have been warm ups,but I think they would both have been a match for Kell Brooks best two.Especially Diaz,keep calling him Garcia.Looked a very good fighter.But still like others got concerns for Khan,some proper beasts in that division,and the one above.
