114-113 to Martinez, but I had Murray by a point after 10. Count the knockdown that got ruled a slip- draw.
The usual, a close fight that could easily have been scored either way and within 5 minutes you have people coming out with "the worst decision ever" Murray was screwed with the second knock down for sure, and if he had got the win i don't think Martinez could have complained, but it was far from a robbery.
Had it 115-113 to Murray, if the second KD was given like it should have been then it would have been 115-112, the more I think about it, Murray was robbed.
Martinez was ****. Got battered as far as im concerned. Off his feet twice and the score goes the other way. But **** it lets go with what the commentators say.
Personally think Murray took it. Martinez seems to get credit for looking flash, truth is he got beat up in there. Can't complain too much bout the scoring but we all knew Murray wasn't getting a decision.
:deal I challenge anyone on here, watch that fight again with the sound off. Stop letting the ****-sucking commentators sway you. Watch that fight on mute and tell me Sergio landed any shots that hurt Murray.
Murray was getting credit for punches he didn't land and for doing better than expected. If you think the scores were even in rounds (feasible) and that the second KD shouldn't have counted (undeniable, really), then a point win would make sense. BUT, if you believe that, then you also have to accept the rounds were largely down to whether you liked the harder shots from Murray, or the flashier bursts and defensive moves of Sergio. Personally, it was the half-way point before I gave Murray a round. He took the next four, but then Martinez swept the championship rounds (if you exclude the KD). Sergio by a point is a reasonable score, IMO. But, two rounds is also acceptable depending on a couple of close rounds. A close fight that doesn't go the way some people want doesn't equal robbery. Just look at Alvarez-Trout for proof of that.
It's not just about hurting the other man though, is it? HBO were sucking Murray off and Compubox was counting punches that weren't landing.
I'm just angry right now cause it's fresh so when I started the thread yes it was over the top, I'll have calmed down by tomorrow. Still though, I'll stand by what I said. Murray won that for sure. Martinez is done, Golovkin would have ****ing murdered him. Murray should come back to England now and fight Macklin and Barker, good fights for him them that I now think he'll win.
