Amir Khan needs to get himself out of boxing for the sake of his own health

He brings entertainment. I personally would like to see him resume his career even though I know he's a knockout waiting to happen. He could literally get killed if he moves up to welterweight unless they carefully select opponents with horrific KO ratios.

 

After 31 professional fights, it's too late for learning. What you see is what you're always going to get. New trainers can only add slight improvements here and there, nothing else.

 

He's predictability is to easy. He comes in with his hands down and is open for the same hooks Garcia flattened him with. He just doesn't learn and he fights stupidly. Garcia would no doubt ko him.

 

I'd agree to an extent. If he picks his fights carefully, i.e. staying away from guys like Matthysse, then there's no reason he can't continue I suppose. He'll win a few, lose a few. But you're right, going up to Welter would not work out well for him. Most guys at WW, and some of the bigger hitters at 140.. that's literally dangerous territory for him.

He's also had tough fights against Willie Limond and Gomez to an extent.

End of the day, lets be realistic about it, he wasn't a boxer, he was a brawler, who fought the best, he wanted to retire by the time he is 28, he fought like it aswell. He didnt duck anyone and fought his heart out, how many other brawlers can you say fought the guys he has fought. Removing all the initial hype, he has a solid resume and is a rare top level fighter (he was, maybe not now, but still relevant) that fought in that style.

Maidana is on the decline, but has power which helps, Ortiz's career has stalled aswell. Those are two guys that fought in a aggressive way. But neither really have had the success of Khan, in terms of belts, money and resume

 

He can still beat Alexander, Guerrero and Bradley (better chance than say mathysse), gets couple of wins, then fight Floyd

Ghost and Bradley will both get inside of Khan, because despite their physical inferiority, they have higher ring IQ's and more educated footwork.

Bradley loops his shots, which is a huge risk to Khan as his temple is the soft spot.

RG gets inside and throws left hooks, meaning Amir goes night night.

He's regressed. His footwork is now so poor, it looks like kids I used to teach, where I had to shout and scream, then spend hours going over the basic do's and Don't s of steps. He drops his right hand when he jabs, actually circles TOWARDS the corner, and then forgets to use his left hand to establish any kind of distance between himself and smaller opponents.

If I was Hunter, I'd keep him in the gym working for the rest of the year. He needs that much work before he can be considered anything but a danger to himself.
