Khan needs to decide. Be entertaining or be a world champion. Can't have both.

I was staggered last night to see how excited Amir was to have put on "such a great fight for the fans"

    Is he ****ing stupid??

He has been totally brainwashed by GBP & the sycophants he surrounds himself with.

His willingness to entertain is admirable, but he needs to make a choice & quickly. Either be a world champion or be an entertaining fighter because he can't have both.

Yeah sure he might nick a world title somewhere but he'll never unify any division if he keeps fighting the way he does. He's gonna ****ing hurt himself,

Someone needs to sit him down & explain to him that at world level he has minimal power. That's his biggest floor. He's deluded himself into thinking he can just bound forward throwing shitty combinations with little regard for what might come back at him.

He still can't fight on the inside & he still can't control distance properly. I think his footwork is pretty **** to hence why he always stumbles when he gets clipped.

I think all his problems stem from his belief that he has KO power.

He's aware of his defensive problems and if he wasn't concerned he wouldn't have made a big issue of it and changed trainers. I do think he's trying to be more of a safety first fighter, (and has been since the prescott fight) but I just think it's a case of "you can't change who you are". Also no matter how defensive or conservative he is, he can still get clipped and if the punch resistance isn't there it isn't there. I'm not sure he's trying to be entertaining. I just think it's a way of talking himself up when he gets clipped and put on his ass. "Yeah I got dropped but it was an entertaining fight, that's why my fights are so fun to watch" That's not an actual quote from him btw (no Pauliemc;))

Being this sort of come forward fighter, despite a questionable chin and power isn't going to end well for Khan.

Yes he is entertaining, but you're right..

i still don't understand how people say he's exciting? it's only exciting because he gets hurt and runs, it then becomes exciting because of the other guy chasing him down lol.. without khan getting hurt his fights are boring because all he does is throw straight 1 2's then backs off again. Time khan and you beat him. As soon as he;s in there with somebody with a brain and a bit of power he loses.

Again the topic name is silly, do you think khan intentionally gets hurt to make the fight exciting?? I mean his fight with molina was soooooooo boring .. why was that? because molina had no power to hurt him and make him retreat.

I think you misinterpreted the fight quite a bit.

He wasn't at all trying to be exciting. He actually boxed a safety-first fight right up until that first knockdown. And even after it, he went on the defensive and allowed himself to recover. The very round after it he went back to being in control until he got hurt a couple of rounds after. And that there is where his problem stems from - his increasingly worse punch resistance. Got nothing to do with him believing he has power (don't know where you picked that up from the fight). It's strictly his ability to hold a shot. Because the moment he's hurt or knocked down, he breaks down and any improvements he has made have to take a backseat.

Oh, and there's the fact that he still hasn't found a way to spot a left-hook coming his way.

What’s wrong with what he said? He’s right, Amir’s a ******. Changing is never easy, however, in order to make the transition as seamless as possible, you work 24/7 on your flaws. With Amir this just isn’t the case, and all this talk of basing himself with Virgil was a farce. Even in the post-fight press conference he seemed reluctant to base himself with Virgil and instead tried to appease the media by talking about the possibility of slotting in a ‘mini camp’ when he’s inactive. He's extremely fortunate that he has a trainer who seemed desperate for Amir to spend more time with him. He's an idiot if he doesn't heed his own trainer's advice, especially with his own health at stake.

Here is a post from another thread, this is the beginning and end of Khan's problems in the ring..

"He doesn't have power or a good chin for the same reason... his poor posture/stance. Biomechanically it is very poor, he's always on his front foot with his COG towards the edge of his base of support. That gives him good mobility to move forward, but the inverse of mobility is stability. When you have stability you can give and receive a punch a lot better. With his stance the way it is the only hope for a decent punch is the left to the body. His right hand is completely negated by not having any weight underneath it and his chin hangs forward all the time, so more torque can be applied to it. His neck is never supported.
He leans forward moving quickly backwards and forwards in straight lines, throwing arm punches because he never has a central axis or a stable base to throw punches from.
Khan is completely done, he has that terrible stance and technique ingrained now, no trainer can ever change that. At least not when Khan gets in trouble, that's when an athlete always reverts back to their ingrained technique.

Khan gets a lot of flack on here, but I don't think he gets enough. He is one of the worst fighters I've ever seen get to this level, he has over achieved massively."

Punctuation for ****s sake mate. I don't know why he chose/left Rubio.

Yes since Prescott he's made an effort to tighten up his defence, hence the switch to Roach, hence the safety first approach vs Kotelnik, hence the switch to Hunter and constant references to his defence. Why did he leave Roach? Probably 'cause he felt Roach had too many fighters to deal with and couldn't give him the commitment he wanted, probably 'cause he felt he hadn't learned enough defence. Probably 'cause he lost against Peterson and Garcia and felt he needed a change. Not saying he was right/wrong to do this btw but those are likely to be his reasons.

its a cop out to think Khan gets into these situations because he wants a tear up, he doesnt. he just doesnt have the ring intelligence or discipline to avoid them.
