By definition, a punch isn't wild if it lands. It is on target.

And Audley never took a knee. He SAID he took a knee, but his brain was too scrambled to sort out what had happened.

Look at the stills from the other side of the ring: Audley was pounded down and slumped arse-first to the canvas. Both feet were fully extended out in front of him, neither knee bent. Nothing but the bottom of his feet ever touched the canvas before the ref stepped in.

Granted, the ref could have called a knockdown and ruled that only the ropes were holding him up, but it is not Wilder's responsibility to make that call and he is free to keep punching (and should) until the ref calls a knockdown.

But knee, no, Audley never took a knee. Use your eyes, not your ears to hear Audley's buzz-brained account.

Boxing is never a sure thing. Considering it only takes one punch to end a fight, one should never get wild.

That style suits Wilder because he was swinging so much if Harrison even thought about punching back he woulda got clocked
The only thing is if Wilder one day thinks he has someone hurt but they aren't and he is about to swing then they catch him with a clean straight
    I don't think he's stupid though

What you are saying is stupid. No one said anything was a sure thing, but there is a situation where you are sure your opponent can't return anything and that is when you do exactly what Deontay did and force a ref stoppage.

I simply disagree because of the circumstances, the times where swinging like that would be correct is if he suffers stamina issues, is down on the cards or expects to get outboxed (Example; Diaz was correct to swing like ****) but I really doubt Wilder has poor stamina, it was the first round and whereas some people might see Audley being able to outbox Wilder I really doubt Wilder does.

Even if Wilder stepped back did a backflip and took a shot of whiskey Audley wouldn't have had his senses back. As for Tyson Fury ruling out the ideas of him actually being prepared well for Wilder, Wilder not being able to get Fury into a place where he can't miss and Fury not either punching back to put Wilder off or grabbing him on the connection of a big punch would be just as ****ing stupid as me ruling out the idea of Wilder connecting a huge punch and Ko'ing him.

Those windmill punches were spectacular. Birds were getting sliced up left and right. Deontay created enough energy with those swings to power a small country, like Holland.

    Deontay must be the greatest.

I'll take a guy who swings with such "bad intentions" than one who uppercuts himself.

I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

One was 4 years ago, the other was yesterday.

You're not saying you're just saying, that doesn't make any sense.

if his lack of control when he has a fighter hurt is the only thing that needs fixing, then his trainers have an easy task before them.

    :lol::lol:

it does sort of seem like picking nits, doesn't it. Besides, he segued from hellacious windmilling into the post-KO celebration really quite well. It was seamless.

Go watch Tyson Fury against Cunninghim -- his first right hand, he steps his right foot forward in front of his left and throws a .... wait for it ... windmill of a right hand that whiffs by a mile. The guy is no technical genius. Or check him mugging like a ****** with his hands down, another textbook move.

I'm assuming you aren't American. A couple of current expressions are "I'm just sayin" and "I'm not sayin". That was a combination of the two.

I just watched the fight, anyone who thinks a boxer who has an opponent hurt should just dive in and throw wild swings is watching the wrong sport.
