uppercutting oneself lives forever, there's no statute of limitations on that. You can't get a self-uppercut off your record. It's permanent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdFP-R_LYSM
Who gives a **** how he went about it, the bottom line is the referee feared for his opponents life and stopped the fight after 1:20 seconds. The hate for Wilder is comical coming from guys who tout the Fury, Helinus, Price's of the world.
I never claimed Fury has superb technique, and large difference between your example and last night was Fury was fighting a live opponent, a hurt Harrison is not someone to windmill against.
A hurt Harrison in the first round with two minutes to go when you have a lack of experience is not a person to windmill against..
Deontay's windmill technique is above reproach. It was safe and fully appropriate under the circumstances.
Wilder really made himself look like a ****ing clown, but the comments on here are hilarious. I can't believe people are defending Wilder's clown of the earth windmilling technique. His new nickname is "Windmill" and that **** is here to stay.
Never heard of a man brutally ko'ing his opponent and others trying to claim he made a fool of himself. Brits taking this one to heart.
Brutally KO'd on his feet.... I don't think he made a fool of himself, just instead of doing what he did he should have thought about it and maybe get that brutal KO you're on about.
That's not an unreasonable argument, but I still disagree. It simply comes down to styles, I guess. A boxer (& his trainer) needs to figure out what works for HIM. So far, it's worked for for Wilder. One could argue that it MIGHT not work against a top-5 opponent, but I think it will still be just as safe & effective. Perhaps he will someday be "fooled" by a crafty Ali-type doing a rope-a-dope. That would really be something, and I'd love to see it! (And then the re-match.) I the meantime, I'm 100% behind Wilder & his current approach. Also, this is the kind of style that will attract casual fans in droves, and we all can agree that that's a good thing.
