No marks? He's sparring top American amateurs there in Mayweather's gym. His style doesn't lend itself to amateur boxing, for one, and apparantly he was getting robbed due to his fancy-dan (Jim Watt bingo) approach.

I'm not saying he's better than Jack Bateson or anything like that - clearly - I just think his style and boxing skill is impressive for a lad of such a young age.

One of them is New York Golden Gloves champion at 132lbs (10lbs above Saba's weight).

Personally, I just think he could be one to watch out for.

Get behind the Brit's and all that.............. nobody?

    :huh

    Hi Junior Saba,

Look pretty good there sparring. But that's all it is, sparring. Won't ever know until you're under the lights and fighting in real fights. But good luck, though.

Ah damn, that little southpaw was doing good in the third vid, and just when things were getting interesting (in the middle of a decent exchange), the vid cuts out?

Until we see this kid shows his apparent skills in a competitive fight no more needs to be said. Who gives a **** if he is slick on the pads and does a few rounds of sparring, ffs don't mean ****. If he was that good he would have been killing it with the best in the amateurs. The plain fact is he isn't good enough so they are basically protecting him and trying to groom him slowly to be a pro. All these kids trying to be Mayweather and ****, have you forgotten all that flashy **** he does on the pads came after years and years of graft and honing his skills in the amateurs, look how much amateur experience Mayweather had. I wish the Saba kid all the best but in my opinion he wont do ****. I know UK amatuer champions who would smash him to pieces. Who has he fought?? Nobody. What championships has he won?? F all. I tell you something if he is gona turn pro they better fed him some fodder, the dude looks like a child.

aye, thats a blast from the past.

i would post on 606 when it was still going and his dad posted there, he was properly mental, like nasser al harbi's dad mental.

anyway it turned out he'd been done for selling fake medicines so he got chased off the board

I've seen Saba do mitts, around 3-4 years ago and they do have a good routine on that can't doubt it. Quite surprised how much he's grown in that time, was tiny when I last saw him.

I think Saba has the right style for the pro game but he is only 18 and has quite a few more years of physical development left. chucking him into a ring with full grown men may be a risk, but i now he has been putting in the right kind of work in the gym and I know he has been sparring with the likes of Ian Napper since he was around 14, so that should hold him on good stead.

I think it's obvious that the kid has a tonne of talent, the issue is whether he has been handled correctly by his trainer. I mean 3 rounds of sparring a week and 15 fights! All the sparring in the world is not going to stack up to the experience that Jack Batesom is getting boxing on the GB Squad!

tbh this kid does look impressive, so relaxed.
Looking forward to seeing a pro debut.
Anyone know what weight he wants to campaign at?

Haha. I noticed that too. Looked like Junior overcommitted with a lead and jumped into a big left hand right on the chops.
