i rewatched the fight and i don't know what ppl are complaining about i had martinez winning by a massive margin, he swept the first 5 rounds i gave murray round 6, 8 and 10, (the 9th round was close and could have gone either way) i counted the 10th round as a 10-8 round for murray. murray just didn't do enough. i said after the fight murray would likely beat quillin and chavez after watching it again i doubt it.

I am happy to reply to this thread and debate the fight with you, but are you actually going to respond?

So you had the fight 115-112? I wouldn't call that wide.

I don't think i have seen anyone score the 7th to Martinez, or have the 9th even.

    I had it 114-113 without round 10 being a 10-8.

Murray won rounds 4,5 and 9 (close round) as well plus 2 knockdowns. he is extremely unlucky to not get the decision. I scored it 6 rounds each so the knockdown wins the fight for Murray.

Shame he started and ended on a whimper as the rounds in between he was landing the much cleaner, harder punches.

i don't agree he was getting outpunched in 4 and 5 those were clear martinez rounds the only close round was round 9(and when you're fight the champ in his backyard anything close goes his way). PPl are letting the knockdown in round 10 overshadow everything.

Ok. You ran away from your last thread like this?

I think if your going to box in Martinez style, to win a fight or a round you have to be defensively solid, and be landing eye catching shots which hurt your opponent. I don't think Martinez was doing that.

I can't see how you would have the 7th round scored to Martinez, that just seems crazy. Not even an even round.

I also love it when people seem to believe they are personally better at registering punches that score compared to Compubox.

you honestly believe compubox its unreliable, i'v watched the fight twice and i seriously can't make a case for murray, Martinez was dominating murray for the first 2 minutes of round 7, murray came alive in the last minute and landed some telling blows, his shots were harder, but martinez outworked him for the first 2 minutes,

punchstats don't mean anything, if you go on punchstats then u must believe paul williams beat lara. watching those rounds again i can assure you, you'll see a different fight.

I think its more reliable than you.

1 Minute of Great work is better than 2 minutes of average work.

Moving around the ring and staying out of range does not count as dominating. Your gonna tell me Paul McCloskey was robbed against Khan next.

i watched the fight twice without commentary.

even Argentine TV gave it to Murray.

I can score a fight without punchstats. but if your picking out specific rounds and saying "Martinez outlanded Murray in this round" and the punchstats say otherwise I will mention those.

Like I said I came on here to actually debate with you. Not listen to you berate everyone as idiots for not seeing things the way you do. Move to ****ing North Korea you will fit in there.

There's no way Sexy won 9 rounds, i gave him 6 rounds and at best i could give round 9 to make it 7-5 in rounds but even then Murray got 2 knockdowns.

    Just a really close fight.

Lederman, Bunce, The Ring's Doug Fischer and Michael Rosenthal, as well as quite a few others had it for Martinez. I don't think saying the Argentineans scored it for Murray really proves anything. The punchstats, IMO, seemed off - and I've watched it twice.

I can totally see why someone would score it for Murray, but there's just as good a reason for giving it to Martinez. It's just one of those close, awkward fights where there's no definitive winner.

Fischer said, "I thought the middleweight champ got the job done against a big, strong, competent and game challenger who simply didn’t do enough to take the crown. But the Brit came close. Hopefully, he starts faster and closes a lot stronger when he gets his third shot at a 160-pound title (which he deserves)."

He gave away the early rounds (which you could easily have scored all Martinez's way until the 6th) and then gave up the last two. So of the remaining five, it's perfectly feasible that Sergio won at least one.

If Murray had been more positive early, he'd have taken a clear win. Saying he had no chance when he was a point out at the eighth is just false.

Martinez punches looked flashy but alot of his work was landing on Murrays elbows/arms/gloves. Thats why he has damaged his hand and Murray hardly had a mark on him! IMO for what its worth, Murray by acouple of points.
