Floyd fought from 106 in the amatuers to 154. People tend to overlook that. Pac got a lot of names on his resume but FLoyd's resume tops it.
Mayweather made out Pac was on using Steroids because he came up in weight from 106 to 147. When it was pointed out that Jr had made the same weight gain, all the morons on here just continued on with the steroids **** ignoring the facts. Now people want to use that fact that he would have been great at those lower weights . ROFL
It's hard to imagine a fighter of similar size being able to fight everyone he's fought without having a big size advantage or disadvantage.
floyd could have but i don't think he could have done it under pac's circumstance. what i do think is if pac had floyd's early training and backing, pac would have done better than a bronze.
Jimmy McLarnin is a definite one I'd say. Pac turned pro very early so it is hard to say. I don't follow the amatuer game so I'm not sure how light the likes of Oscar and Whittaker were at 17 years old. I know Floyd was that light so I'd give him a good shot. Not many at all have traversed from fly to welter (although I don't ever think he was the best welter around given his refusal to match Mosley and his failure to match Floyd). It would ask a lot of any pro to under go such a career arc, hell it asked a lot of Pac and has seen him thrice knocked out. He is unquestionably a special talent who adapted his style brilliantly to take the p4p crown. I am quite up on boxing history but given the timeline and weight classes there's only McLarnin and Mayweather I'd pick with any confidence. Maybe Oscar if he did start off that light.
Off the top of my head Floyd, as he's the only one I know that started around that weight and went as high.. Only difference is Floyd was an amateur and Pac already turned pro.
Floyd would've never lost to the two unknowns that Pac fought. He wouldn't lose to any version of Morales either. Plus he wouldn't struggle with any version of JMM or get KTFO by him either.
Basically this,there's nothing really special about his career just bunch of washed up names catch weights & paper belts.No doubt he's a good fighter still one of the best fighters this era but Marquez proved he was mostly hype.Oscar,Floyd,Trinidad,Whitaker,Chavez or anybody with skill could go through that cherry picked resume,sorry but it's the truth.Great fighter but one of the most protected ever.
