yeah, hope he has success, real down to earth guy - Trout like, gave a good breakdown aswell, most who lose, claim they lost to the best - make it out they lost to SRR, but he gave a honest break down
Yeah, I think people forget that hes has a pretty solid career. Held the IBF title twice. Has fought some of the biggest names in and around 135 over the last decade. Castillo Juan Diaz Manfredy Jesus Chavez He drew,(some say he beat) Porter who is a hyped up and comer, and now hes pushed Khan close. Basically, hes no bum. Think he could give a lot of guys issues at 140.
Diaz has ended Khan's credibility - that's his victory. Khan was supposed to prove that he was a new man, who could defend his chin, take a hit, avoid a left hook etc etc. what Diaz proved was 'same old Khan'. We've heard Khan 'reborn' so many times - never with any degree of sincerity. Khan doesn't have the versatility nor the intelligence to adapt and overcome his various weaknesses. No insult to Diaz, but he was chosen to fight Khan and if they thought he was going to put him down again he wouldn't have been. GBP are still talking up Khan v Mayweather - and I don't doubt that Mayweather would be laughing up his sleeve at the prospect - but really Golden Boy are thinking 'Where the **** do we go from here with this chinny dog of a fighter?'.
I gave Diaz a 10 - 8 round so it was slightly closer on my card but outside of that i was pretty much in agreement. Diaz did land the cleaner harder blows but he did it in too few rounds.... based on a round system Khan simply won enough rounds. Diaz even admitted himself that he was looking too hard for the KO.
i agree with what he's saying... he's not saying that Diaz won the fight, just that he's ruined any credibility that Khan had left. which is true. this WAS a hand picked fighter who was years past his best and out of his natural weight division for Khan to sparkle against. and he failed. Diaz wasn't even a puncher at lightweight, much less at 143 lbs. Khan looked lost out there, inbetween two styles that are making him worse, not better. i really can't see him becoming a champ again if this continues. is Hunter the right trainer for him? i don't think he is. but time will tell.
