The build up has been weak. I think not having a tour to promote the fight hurt the build up. There are so many tickets that I could go to that fight if I wanted with how many tickets are left.

4 weight champ  Forget the interim belts, you probably couldn't name his opponents for his "legit" belts

that's not true. Floyd has his own fanbase. I went to a theater here in Georgia, and 90% of the theater were young african americans rooting for Floyd.

Plus most of the ppvs aren't from his opponent's fans. It's from casuals who will buy depending on how intrigued they think the fight will be. The only guys Floyd fought with a huge fanbase was Hatton, Cotto, Gatti and Oscar

You can tell the OP has never been to Vegas......... Does he even realize how many fights you can wait till the day of and still purchase tickets? That includes Manny Pacquiao fights.

Available tickets are rarely a problem for boxing events. They don't price tickets to "sell out." They price tickets to "maximize profits." They could care less if they sell out as long as the high roller seats sell.

Did his fight with Cotto sell out MGM, quite sure it didn't.. Still cracked top 10 live gates, and he made how much with how many PPVs again?

Mayweather has lived off his opponents names, although none of them have brought in anywhere near what he has with anyone else, except Oscar. ****ing geniuses we have here on ESB I tell ya.

Mayweather - Cotto Top 10 gates, not sold out

CBS is watched by every segment of American demographics. That wasn't aimed at boxing fans, it was aimed at casuals.

Oh, for comparison.. Pacquiao - Marquez III is #10 on the list in the link below, where Mayweather - Cotto was #9. Pacquiao- Marquez III was sold out in the MGM, while Mayweather Cotto wasn't. Sooooooooooo selling out the arena doesn't mean what you think buddy. :good

Floyd does overprice tickets. If they were even somewhat affordable, he could sell out a football stadium.

Like I said earlier: it's pretty obvious OP has never been to Vegas. Or he'd already know this. They don't price tickets to "sell out." That isn't their goal.

Getting people to drop $5k+ for a good seat, that is their goal. Not filling up the arena with $300 tickets..... You want celebrities and high rollers at your event. The "rest" can order it.

    Interim aside, I can.

He is a very decent fighter, and has been above the radar for a while
