Bigdog I just showed you on the last page Cotto fight wasn't sold out. Cotto fight sold more PPVs and had a higher gate than Pac-Marquez III which was sold out. And Mayweather brought in a bigger guarantee and ending purse than either fighter in Pac-Marquez III.

So yeah, you're wrong. Give the thread up.

You speak nothing but opinionated bull****. Its almost like a boxing fan wants the sport to have no fans.

Bro i asked 8 of my buddies who is order the fight and they said nah i'ts not worth it.

Even the mexicans are not ordering so there goes some numbers. I just wish trout would have got his shot at mayweather because he deserved it, he beat cotto more convincingly. Instead he bascially made canelo fight whom had a good chance of beating him. Repeat!!! Trout had a chance of beating mayweather but mayweather does not care about boxing or testing himself to see how good he really is. All the greats tested themselves and that is what made them great!!!

I call them "After the De La Hoya fight fans".

They just know somebody who is black and undefeated (Mayweather) is fighting that night, there is possibly nothing else to do that night and they are at the theater watching a fight.

They are casual fans. Just in tuned with "whateva's poppin"

    True!

I think the disparity in excitement which might translate to a decline in numbers is because of the switch to Showtime from HBO, floyd fighting a no namer, and no promo tour. HBO is still THE PREMIER network for boxing, and has been for ages. HBO has many many more subscribers, many of which are programmed to associate HBO with ppv. After the Pacquiao/Mosley fight Arum came running back to HBO.

Robert Guerrero who? He deserves the payday and at this point every boxer not named Canelo, Martinez, or Pacquiao will be a cherry pick. Guerrero is a tough guy and I expect him to put his best foot forward, but there are exactly 33 people who know who he is.

And then the promo tour or lack there of...:patsch

Yet and still I think this fight will do Hatton or Martinez numbers. No records will be broken.

They actually are fans of Mayweather, I talked to a few of them and overheard some of them talk. A good portion box themselves and anybody who trains in boxing will most likely have some appreciation of Floyd.

Plus couldn't I use your same reasoning with a guy like Oscar. "they're just watching him because he's mexican-american and they're nothing to do" or "she's just watching because he's cute"
