Sure thats what u think, u know it aint true tho. The sad part is everyone, including you wont give Guerrero his props cuz all youll be saying is how Floyd is old and has slowed down. I know how nervous youll be when you see a bigger stronger and supposedly slow Guerrero popping Floyd with jabs and hard left hands right from the start.
I admire consistency, I really do, but you are going to have a long night after Floyd beats Robert from pillar to post.
Floyds a great fighter but he looked vulnerable in there with Cotto but stoll impressive esp being at 154. Ortiz was nothing special but was interesting cuz hes always in an exciting fight. Mosley was a solid win but still, the guy was like 39 years old coming off a 1yr layoff. Beautiful boxing vs Marquez but come on, he wasnt ready for that. I havnt picked against Floyd before but there are plenty of reasons to say Guerrero has a very good chance at pulling off the upset. Even if he dont get the nod, it will be very competitive. I like the judges and ref tho so Guerrero should gst a fair shake.
Its not a big deal. Most of that is water weight and most fighters have about that much to lose in the last week. I think thats where Danny Garcia and Canelo were, at the 7 day weigh in.
he is a rare breed of fighter who isent interested in hydrating and stressing out to make weight it seems he fights at what he weighs when he is fit.. and will prob come in at 150 on fight night if that. iv always said draining as much weight as some fighters do (chavez jr rehydrates on average 21.5lbs per fight overnight) cannot be good for your body.... and floyd is still looking sharp as hell at 36, this may be one of his many secrets:bbb
Most fighters don't have the skill to do what Floyd does and consistently beat bigger men. The drain-and-rehydrate method has become so overwhelmingly prevalent that if you aren't doing it, you're getting left behind and can expect to be at a disadvantage once you make it into the ring. Floyd would do EXCEPTIONALLY Well in an era of same day weigh-ins and 15 round championship fights. He is the best conditioned fighter of his time.
RG's jab is garbage and will no give Floyd any issues. Floyd struggles with hard jabbers. "cotto and Oscar" RG's jab is no where near what they bring. RG's best success or what will look like a success is when he throws wide hooks on the inside. Once Floyd times him with his nasty uppercut, RG's face will be a mess.
And what is it with all these assumptions around RG's weight being water weight? Most of these weighin's happen post workout when most fighters are drained. Either way 6 lbs should be comfortable for RG to make.
I feel that's pretty much his walk around weight. I doubt he goes over say 154 even when not fighting?
