Oh, guys, it's worth mentioning that Virgil has been trying to put more weight on Khan. Can't remember which interview it was in, but he mentioned that he disliked the fact that Peterson and Garcia were outweighing him by large margins.

I must have been the exception then and I can remember quite a few others that said Khan was pissing in the wind, changing trainers.

Another thing that Hunter will need to work on is Khan's constant fouling.

It cost him the Peterson fight and if the fight on Sat had been in the States he'd have had one or possibly two points taken away.

You can't expect big changes overnight but I think Khan was physically more stronger under Ariza

His chin cannot be left out in the open like it was sat night, as bad as I thought his chin was I now think its worse...under roach his defense was basic but his chin was protected hands up high covering that mandible, back to the drawing board for him and hunter

Amir Khan is a perfect example of a boxer who was taught (the wrong way) to run before he could walk.

....and he can't run either.

I don't blame Amir, I blame the snakes and people around him. They know he is an exciting fighter and involved in exciting fights, so they will squeeze every last drop of juice out of the orange, until it is bone dry.

Unfortunately, Amir will be the sucker that pays for it for the rest of his life.

He hasn't got the greatest punch resistance, never has. His chin is highly questionable and open, thats always been the case. He becomes a massive target because of those reasons. He takes to many flush hard shots, that will do lasting and irreversible damage. Over time that will make him even weaker the longer he fights for. Amir will suffer after Boxing also because of that.

"Hit and not get hit" the key rule of longevity in boxing and good health after it, doesnt seem to apply to Amir and he hasn't learned or developed enough at that crucial early age. It was a rushed process from Am's to Pro's, for a fighter who particularly needed a learning curve. He was never a special special special talent. He had some positives, of course, but it wasn't all quite there. He isnt an overall fighter. He is good at one or two things. He need to be taught the right way, and he never got that when it was most needed.....which is blowing up in his face now.

He is a name, so plenty of fighters will be licking their lips at getting to fight him at this very moment. (after seeing the Diaz fight)

The change to a trainer like Virgil Hunter was needed, but I feel it came to late for Khan, he has simply fought one way for to long, the only way he has ever known. He is a conditioned fighter. A fighter which Freddie Roach walked further down that path. As far down it as possible.

Amir needed Virgil the moment he turned pro. Freddie Roach made Amir Khan a better fighter, but not a better boxer....and definitely not smarter.

Because of that late change, he is now a confused and nervous fighter, caught between two styles. Boxing moves so quick, that its now like trying to teach a 90 year old how to drive for the first time.

He was never a highly intelligent fighter, you can't teach what can only come naturally. Virgil will be forced to cut corners and try to get Khan to improvise the best he can. Deep down even a great trainer like Virgil knows he won't be able to change Khan, he can only show him the door. Khan needs to be baby fed now, Virgil is doing his best....and yet he got through by the skin of his teeth against Diaz. Even with the advice and support.

The heavy defeats and criticisms have torn apart Khan and he is now a psychological mess. From top to bottom, head to feet. He was always a vulnerable fighter (thats why people tune in) but he is even more so now. From the waist down, he looks light and jelly like - and he doesn't even need to be hit anymore. I fear the damage has already been done.

He is fresh meat, primed for the taking.

If I was around Amir, a relation or a friend, I'd try my very best right now to get him to quit while he still has all his senses. (You just know that aint gonna happen, he is surrounded by the wrong people)

I don't particularly like Khan for his attitude on camera (I don't know the bloke) an exciting fighter I'll give him that, I like to see his fights. But I seriously worry for his health.

    Its too late.

Khan was gifted with balls of steel, the heart of a lion, lightning fast hands and decent power and terrific and terrific stamina as a young chaamp.

But 4 years on and he has learnt nothing.he is a very dumb brain boxer

Has never ever learned to fight on the inside.poor defence gets clobbered by bombs.doesnt know how to box patiently or off back foot.
Power has gone now too look how amateurish his arm punches were its all straights too.look at how varued farcuas punches are and tgan khan.he looks shot and he wants to fight in december wtf he needs 2 more fights this year.he just wants peterson mattyse and garcia to eliminste each other.

Thus is starting to look like naz mark 2 ..i have a feeling we wont ever see him in with any of garcia mattyse peterson brook mayweatger marquez or pac.

Hunters trying to get tge man to cgange but khan doesnt even have the brains to use feints to draw leads and counter.a real shame as if he mentally grows up he couls still beat all of the above

Noticed Hunter made remarks in the post fight presser constantly using ''all the time'' when talking about the opposition and the contact time they have with there trainers compared to Amir and that Amir has said he will look into working with Virgil in the downtime.

This is something i've said long ago, Khan trains for opponents not for development. Under Roach it was training camps not development training. Not Roach's thought,Khan needs to train when he's resting.

I do feel though Hunter may already be getting excuses into the open so when it does fall apart which it's likely to he can say ''well didn't have enough time with him..''. I noticed he's also trying to keep Amir's confidence up by using the tangling of legs for the KD. There wasn't a tangling of legs, I think Hunter's already finding this job out to be a lot tougher then first thought.

Khan should concentrate more on throwing conventional jabs and normal hooks. He's fallen in love with "turning the left jab into a hook" punch and it leaves his chin right in the danger zone. He does it over and over again.

Loads of us were. In fact there are many examples of me saying Hunter was a terrible choice for Khan as Amir is thick as ****.

Obviously he was destined to half a very short shelf life.

I remember Flea, It astounds me when posters say EVERYBODY was saying Khan should change trainers because that clearly wasn't the case, what Hunter has tried to do is slightly ******ed, he has tried to change Amir's whole set up and mind set and its too much for Khan to deal with.

He was better off trying to tweak a few things, not a major overhaul, on Saturday Khan looked like a fighter without an identity and worse off than before, I'm not having a pop at Amir but he hasn't got the natural ring craft and intelligence to implement what Hunter is trying to do with him.
