Jon Jones is simply not going to beaten at 205, there is nobody with the physical genetics the guy has at the weight, he's absolutely huge not to mention very powerful, its almost unfair how big the lad is for a LHW, none of them are small but Jones is a good sized HW. The big problem for anybody fighting Jones is that he is a wrestler, so not only do you have all the other attributes to deal with; his ever improving muay thai, cardio, elbow strikes, awkward movement, reach, length etc etc! once all else fails he will go back to his roots, toss you to the mat and take you to bits with GNP! He's not going to beaten any time soon at 205! Belcher stunk! didnt get going, his boxing looked shite, his cardio was not up to scratch, his muay thai was good when it was going (not enough!) bitterly disappointed in him! Flip to side that, Bisping looked excellent, his boxing seems to of tightened up nicely, his cardio looks even better than it was at WL, this is what happens when you train with better guys, its clear Bisping has took his skill set up a notch! Controlled the pace of the fight, dictated the stand up, good footwork, he looked great! He's still pushing his punches out, and and is still leaving his left hand by his waist when he throws a back hand, could still do more work on his 3 punch combo's double jab right hand is all he seems to know how to throw. Chael Sonnen should get back 185 immediately and restore some pride! Belfort / Rockhold - Sonnen would be great IMO
Does anyone think travis browne could be contending for the belt eventually. Although he has a loss to the dangerous bigfoot he did destroy gonzaga... I havent seen to many of fights how does he look in them ???
I dont see it personally mate, big guy, great athlete, heavy handed will make some noise but he's some way of the top guys in the division. The yard stick for title talk is Cain and Jr, Travis Browne is literally cannon fodder for them two, that said, it will be interesting to see him in with a highly regarded name in the division.
Ex-Strikeforce heavyweight Dion Staring fought UFC featherweight Akira Corassani in 2007. Anyone have any details of this fight?
Why? Do you think it's irrelevant, or are you saying it will be boring? For a long while Fitch and Koscheck were the top 2 fighters in the division behind the champion. Maia dominated Fitch. If Maia wants to get into the mix at the top of the division, or if Koscheck wants to remain relevant, this is a good fight to make.
He's saying its gonna be boring I think which I agree with. Bjj vs wrestling fights usually suck. Anyway, Cormier needs to say **** it and fight Cain. Switch gyms if you have to, we don't need some kind of k2 situation.
