Is it that much of a stretch to say Trinidad is right on the edge and falls short due to a lack of a win over an ATG in his prime?

A W over a Primed ATG isn't really a prerequisite IMO he's like a Holmes- type of ATG, if not lower even.

Peep the top 100 list in Classic, it's ****ing stuffed full of legit ATG guys and even ATGs that are certified didn't even make it.

If that was the case, Chavez shouldn't be a ATG either. Mother ****er doesn't have one ATG in his resume or barely someone in the HOF.

Is Harada top 3 in Bantamweight? He has too many losses to be considered an ATG, and only known win was against Jofre in which he didn't keep the titles for long.

Never heard of any of those fighters besides Jofre. Show me a link where people have him in the top 100 ATGs. I don't even think he was the best fighter out of Japan.

Besides Jofre, I have Ruben Olivares, Carlos Zarate, and Manuel Ortiz ahead of him in the Bantamweight rankings.

I just looked at those lists, and it's pretty laughable. They have Roy Jones above Monzon, and Harada above Gomez and Sanchez? Oguma, and Kobayashi.

For me, it's either a win by over an ATG backed by an otherwise decent resume, or heavy dominance complemented by wins over faded but game ATG's in dominant performances and a few wins over future HOFers. Trinidad is just short of both IMO.

    I'll take a look.

Trinidad dominated the WW division, had about 14 defenses, unified the WW titles and had a controversial win over another ATG, moved up.. united the Jr. Middleweight titles over the reigning champs, no vacant titles.. then moved up again, won a middleweight title from the reigning WBA champ, then fought Hopkins to unify the undisputed title and lost. Chavez resume is laughable compared to Trinidad's.

    same for me.

For me ATG is an elite group of an exclusive group, For some reason, you can still be a great and not an ATG

    like i said before

    ATG
    Great

    HOF

An ATG doesnt get schooled by a guy like Hopkins, Trinidad was not that small fight should have been closer, ATG would have given a good fight - considering he was still in his prime

:huh You realize Trinidad was a career Welterweight and started his career at 138? He had 15 defenses of his welterweight title.. Hopkins, another ATG was a career middleweight and moved up all the way to Light Heavyweight. That's like saying a guy like Gomez shouldn't have been dominated by a guy like Sanchez when they were both on their prime. Regardless of that fact, they're still ATG's.
