It was in the news that Matthysse was guaranteed a fight with the winner of Garcia/Judah fight, but now they want to try and cheat him by putting him in with Peterson the steroid boxer, with his personal referee and judges, not to mention a ******ed boxing commission. Matthysse will have to get a knockout to get a draw. Garcia is being protected and will never fight Matthysse. Khan/Peterson fight was a disgrace to boxing. It so appears that it's legal for Peterson to take steroids, have his own personal referee, judges and boxing commission, sure seems that way. Read the news about it...........

Schaefer says he does too. To be held a week before their September 14th PPV -- If Matthysse beats Peterson, of course. Basically, the winner.

I think haymon signed him to protect his other fighters rather then match them up with him.I hope I'm wrong, just can't trust that leach.

That actually makes Matthysse LESS likely to be matched with Garcia...

There's no denying he gets his guys exposure and maximizes their payouts.

From a fan's perspective, he's a cancerous POS. His stable is getting too large to not match guys within it without hurting the sport.

True you make some valid points, hope I'm wrong & you're right.I'm not denying the fact that he maxes out his fighter pay days he does this by minimizing risk though.Just think he's doing what GB did to Lara, signing him to control & avoid bigger fights for as long as possible. He's not known for having a huge fan base either but is a huge threat to anybody 140-147lb.

Oh, I definitely don't expect him to make any fight involving Matthysse/Garcia/Broner. If that happens, it'll be a pleasant surprise. I completely didn't expect a Floyd-Trout fight either had he beaten Alvarez.

You used to have to fight the best to get those kind of paydays too. Fighters have always rightfully been about the check, but there was big incentive for taking the biggest challenges available. Now it's like, Why Bother? Sucks the life out of it, but here we are, always hoping.

That's the thing ppl would fight the best for huge paydays **** it's too easy now at days. They fool fans too easy & suck the sport for what it's worth these days.I'm not complaining too much though got Serg/Jr,Rigo/donaire,Alvarez/trout,Matthysse/Peterson fights we weren't getting couple yrs back, hopefully great bouts like these continue.

I was going to say that almost exactly, but decided to wait on your response. In this day in age, you can't help but commend guys like Donaire, Alvarez and even Chavez Jr. They needed to take their most recent fights about as much as they need a triple bypass. Major ****ing respect.

Or it could be that Lara has no fan base and is a good fighter, but nothing elite. His last fight with Vanes put me to sleep.

Why would GBP invest money in a guy that will be nothing special?
