True, he does have a few left in him. It does make more sense to just wait. Perspectives shift a lot.

It does...the last 2 years between May and Manny have been crazy. For the first time in forum history Floyd won the poll between them just a few weeks ago.

    Lots left to go though.

almost on par, but pac has the slight edge. the next fights and how they fare on their performance will be the scale on who is better.

Marquez needs to get out of that TR contract ASAP though because the best guys are over at GBP around his weight.

    Are they?

Bradley, Alvarado, Rios, Pacquiao under TR.

GB has Guerrero, who's probably about to lose, and Mayweather. There's Maidana and Khan.

I guess the split is somewhat even. But HBO will make any fight he does with TR fighters more lucrative.

After Bradley he needs to get out of dodge. Rios and Alvarado do absolutely zilch for Marquez' resume.

Same with Pac since everyone will just cry about Pac being old (meanwhile Juan is ****ing 40  )

At GBP we have Broner, Khan, Garcia, Matthysse, Guerrero, Peterson. Those are great scalps that help Juan out tremendously.

Marquez has longevity, better one win over ATG at a weight that wasn't his and being an under dog, being 40... Nothing in pacs resume beats ktfo6 no one in his resume was as highly rated p4p star

    Then his lw reign
Then his wins at feather weight.

Marquez has depth, Marquez skill wise p4p wise is better then pacquiao.

    This is close.

But Marquez currently has a case to be ranked above Pac. And he ain't even done.

Short answer no, Bradley hasn't shown himself to be a lock as a HoFer so it won't count that hightly. For fun lets just compare ther HoF comp(subjective)

    JMM 2-4-1
    Pac (1-2-1), MAB (1-0), FMJ (0-1), Chris John (0-1)

    Pacquiao 10-2-1
    JMM (2-1-1), MAB (2-0), Morales (2-1), SSM (1-0), ODLH (1-0), Cotto (1-0), Hatton (1-0)

I think its fair to say JMM is to Pacquiao what Lamaotta is to Robinson, a great rival that won once out of the many bouts they had.

Not a very accurate comparison. Robinson was too good to lose to LaMotta in a manner that can be described as OWNED. Plus he ultimately got the better of LaMotta.

why include FMJ for JMM? FMJ beat him badly.

SSM and ODLH were shot by the time manny fought them

Im including the HoFers they faced period, win or lose. So it is indeed fair. THe Robinson/lamotto comparison however isn't quite fair as neither of them are close to robinson.

Lets make it easier, take JMM off Pacs resume and Pac off JMM resume and what do you have? Easy JMM only beat 1 HOF opponent and Pac beat a plethora of HOFers

JMM is still a great fighter and he proved it against Pac every time they fought, but as Mayweather would say numbers don't lie and the #'s are not indicative of JMM being ranked higher than Pac

edit BTW Slickster I like your style, open dialogue with intellect and respect!

No. IF JMM were to beat Canelo he'd be above manny in ATG definitively. The only valuable win of pac's career (above 135) is Tim Bradley. Every other win occurred with great circumstances. JMM, however, has been taking tough fights and has defeated manny at least twice, and probably three times, with one of those wins being a brutal, career-changing KO.

Nothing manny has done in his career indicates he's an ATG fighter at all. Especially considering his notorious reluctance to take a god damn drug test. Such a ****ing hypejob

If JMM beats Bradley and then would beat
Rios/Alvarado and beat someone like Garcia? That would really help his legacy obviously. I don't think he would fight Broner. I think he knows that might be a bad style. The guys he could probably beat are Khan,Garcia and Guerrero. I still think Pacman has that unique resume which takes years of fighting the best without fear to get. He didn't have to fight JMM in the 4th fight.

he lost to Mayweather easily and to John which people will obviously argue about. He does not have the post 135 record of Pacman and not even close. I think it would be Pacman gets a 10 ranking out of 1-10 and JMM would get a 5, solely on his Pacman knockout. There is no way Marquez can rank as high as Pacman. Manny has fought everyone the last few years, and Marquez has not.
