Norton would be today's Adamek, a mediocre challenger who just doesn't cut it vs. the big boys.

Major difference being that Joe tended to get back up.

I do love how the IBF title is treated as the lineal title in this thread.

Joe got up from all but 2, both to HOF'ers, one he redeemed dramatically, and the other was when he was beyond old and unhealthy.

Plus, the difference in glove size is notable. Wladimir and every other fighter in this era would have hit canvas more often if they used the same gloves Louis used.

    Right.

That IBF title Wlad lifted from Byrd was purchased by Don King for the lowly price of a bag full of cash and a new Range Rover. IOW, it's made out of PAPER. a Bag full of PAPER...

He wasn't prime when Holmes beat him.

In a month or two he'll be #2 right after Louis.

Why is that chart ignoring Wlad's first reign 2000-2003? His two reigns combined put him at almost 10 years total, he hangs in there another 2 years he'll beat Joe Louis all-time longevity record.

  13. I'm pretty sure it's 13.

But 11-13 times for a heavyweight in this modern era screams suspect chin or stamina. Either way it's a massive setback in his overall fighting analysis because every time he gets knocked down.. if that had been a better opponent he might have just ended it right there.

Just as Much in his Prime as Wlad was in his Vs Purity or Sanders....Not to Mention being destroyed by the 1 dimensional Ernie Shavers less than a year after the Holmes beat him
