Mitchell doesn't belong here imo btw.

He was a good, neat and tidy technician, but not standout in any area even purely technically, wasn't a notable physical talent and defended against too many mediocre fighters.

Maybe if he'd beat Nelson, Fenech or someone but his defining wins were against Jim McDonnell, Frankie MItchell, Danilo Cabrera and Tony Lopez aren't really good enough imo.He surely can't be over someone like Galindez under any sensible criterion(ie not mine)

best african fighters of the 80s were Nelson, kalambay and Kalule.

    Preach it my brother! :happy

Oh...and to address a argument from McHrain...

Baby Arizmendi looks like a hell of a fighter in the two performances we have of him on film against Armstrong in fights four and five. Armstrong looks like one of the five best in history in those fights, in full pomp...and short stubby Baby Arizmendi stays right ****ing with him most of the way, even if Armstrong winds up winning clearly.

At a point when Armstrong was blowing out everyone (Ambers excepted), Arizmendi remains pretty damned competitive.

Ah, Patterson was a sort of built up HW though. Can only imagine how great of a LHW he could have been.

Chuvalo, Bonavena, Quarry, and Ingo where all bigger men. Structurally and naturally.

Not going over Frazier and Lewis case again. Not going over the entire case with losses and all that. I'll just say Ali was a little bigger than Frazier and Holyfield is... yeah.

This is even greater case with Wlad than Lewis. What are his best wins? Haye, Byrd? Sultan, Brock, Chambers? It's not only a abysmal era, but it's one which consists of a lot of smaller HWs of higher quality. SHW shouldn't get the benefit of the doubt in P4P talk.

You left out and we loved it! We didn't even have words back them- we could only communicate via interpretive dance and scatological searches.

His speed was more apparent against bigger guys though. Maxim didn't need to knock him out to beat him, though I agree Floyd would've become a better light heavy with experience.

Yuh>Mitchell no can't really agree with that and I think him and nelson would of gone to a trilogy

Flea I think honestly I pushed Mitchell's case quite well though

19 year old Floyd. What about the durability angle at LHW too? Glad you agree, though.
