Floyd Mayweather vs VICTOR ORTIZ - perhaps NOT as One-Sided as you Think..

Ortiz landed some very hard and very clean shots both to the head and body. Floyd is really good at shaking it off and not showing the effect of a punch landed. Hes physically so strong but there is a reason his dad said that Floyds been getting hit too much recently because lately, including in the Ortiz fight, hes been getting caught with hard flush shots.

 

Really then explain forbes , Urango , and Collazeo.. Berto is good at knocking out bums he has yet to KO a world class fighter. He was given the WBC belt, Berto is no more then a good contender who held a belt for a moment.

 

Pretty much from the get go, Floyd was walking down the bigger man with hard rights. Any (ineffective) aggression that Ortiz was applying, Floyd was thwarting with masterful defense.

That kind of aggression and the pace may have caused Floyd problems later in the fight, but we'll never know because Ortiz was looking for a way out and Floyd gladly provided him with one.

Floyd did get hit in that fight, but this thread also shows that Floyd is held to a higher standard than every other current boxers in the sport. I don't see anyone else nitpicking/exaggerating about any other fighters getting hit in spurts, ect.

Actually, it was Ortiz that was getting to floyd. You could see the look on Floyd's face, he was uncomfortable and Ortiz was starting to get through and land some shots. He was putting May in awkward positions. It was floyd's elbows that drew in the headbutt. The sucker punches were uncalled for and the reason floyd did it was because he was scared and didn't like how rough the fight was getting. Just look at his facial expressions! You don't see floyd look like that ever. shaking his head "no" with this grim smile/frown. Ortiz was breaking through!

He was uncomfortable that was fought at a much higher pace than Floyd likes to fight at.
Would have been interesting to see it in the 6th and 7th round where them Ortiz Body shots may have started to show up in the fight.
I wouldnt say Floyd was scared though, but he did look a bit off set in there by what Ortiz was able to do
