You notice the same guys complaining about the illegal blow are the same guys a few weeks ago claiming "boxers would get smashed in a real fight by MMA fighters because there fighting resembles street fighting" They are so oblivious to real things that occur in a street fight because of their sheltered rules. A boxer would not feel comfortable pulling guard in a street fight because he might get his eyes torn out and bit to pieces. The boxer will stay nice and out of reach and pound away with his own shots mayby lighting fast jab with the hand open to the eyes quickly damaging both eyes. If you are to fast to be hit by a jab you are surely not being kicked. Also you cant get punched you cant get eye poked or bit or anything else either.(assuming you are using your range to avoid these things not coming in closer leaving you liable to head butts)
Thanks for that GIF. Why am I not surprised Mayorga won the way he did? Considering this is a sport with rules, he probably should be DQ'd. But....I can't help but think that's actually a good move to use in a street fight.
For the umteenth time: he beat a guy that was 0-1, 20 lbs. lighter, coming off a 4 year lay off, with an illegal strike and an early stoppage. But yeah...he looked like he grappled a little before this fight. I'm sure Din Thomas is glad their fight didn't take place now.
The finish looks uber suspect. Mayorga doesn't care. He clearly hasn't trained and the pre fight antics were embarassing.
