First off, we should consider ourselves very lucky when it comes to PPV prices. I don't really buy a PPV unless I have mates around, trickles of water following a pre-determined path should suffice.
Aye we are proper lucky that on top of our sky sports subscription we then have to pay again for one fight. PPV on top of PPV. Can't believe my luck!
If PPV is the only viable option for this fight, surely we should blame Kessler and Froch foo pricing thmeselves in such a manner that only PPV makes financial sense? Also a to subscribe to Sky Sports is not PPV. What do you expect, everything included in your licence fee? And yes comparitively with the US, we are lucky not to be paying 40quid per PPV.
Does seem to be boxing fans getting ****ed twice over when they don't do that to other sports. (Well excluding WWE.)
Yeah it's nuts to think Kessler and Froch deserve to have a good payday for a fight that its going to be a punchfest with the loser retiring. It's not as though either guy has gave us any memorable fights over the years too...
Football and Basketball are both split between Sky and ESPN aren't they? Don't get me wrong we are getting fooked, but this thread has been made to complain about a completely fictional price on a fight that has been made PPV due to the fighters purse demands more than anything else, yet its the promoter and the network that are receiving all the flak. The problem with PPV on Sky last time around was the PPV's didn't even have a decent headliner by the end. For instance that Magnificent 7 card wasn't put on PPV due to demands of the headlining fighters, it was done due to the greed of the promoter/network.
dont think hearn sets the price, bigwigs at sky who do that, strange how they said what they did about ppv's and then put the prices up for them
No agenda here. Sold my tickets and bought Haye tickets and will buy Hull tickets with money I got for them. Pissed off that now I'm paying for it on PPV there's a possibility price has gone up. I'm a fan of what Hearn has done up to now and what he's trying to do. Doesn't mean he doesn't deserve critism over certain things though
People in the UK always complaining about prices You dont know how good you got it over there. The UK has to be the cheapest place to live in Western Europe these days, and you're still complaining over £3. The Froch Kessler PPV is £55 here. I will be heading to the pub for champs league final/Froch-Kessler double header and save my crowns for the Tuborg.
