you don´t unserstand that it is about styles, and all these men did hit harder than holmes, but joe would do what tyson did...he keeps holmes in the floor, holmes had 2 weak points, big right hand and great finisher... it is = Joe Louis
I fully understand that it's about styles, and the styles match up favors Holmes more than it does Louis. Holmes definitely had the power to drop Louis. He is tied for most consecutive knockout wins in title defenses for a reason. There's a reason only 5 out of 20 men who challenged him for the title made it to the final bell. Holmes's "weakness" against the right hand is grossly overstated. He got caught being careless twice and got swarmed when he was 38 and rusty against Tyson. Even then he was under 10 seconds away from making it through the round, and Tyson dropped him about 40 seconds into it.
:huh I mean, it's not. He use to get caught by that shot all of the time. Louis would find a way to connect on Holmes with it.
Really, there is a great chance Holmes wins a decision just as there is Louis getting the KO. No pick should be laughed at.
Not really. Him getting drilled hard by a Shavers right and Snipes right is hardly "all the time." If he got hit nearly as much by right hands as ESB has seemed to determine, there's no way he'd have won as many fights as he did or made it through litterally 95% (71/75) of his fights without being planted on the canvas. He got caught with left hooks too, and jabs, and uppercuts. It's boxing, people get hit with punches repeatedly throughout a fight. Nobody ever came over Larry's with a right hand to drop him. Nobody ever came over his jab and dropped him period.
Holmes is a far better boxer than the likes of Conn. Bigger and stronger too. In fact, Holmes is a way better boxer than anyone Louis ever faced in his prime.
yes, because holmes did beat a harder-accurate puncher, better fighter and as good finisher as joe louis right?
buddy, max and carnera were bigger and stronger than holmes too so what? conn was smaller and faster than holmes it was the key factor to give louis problems, holmes was bigger and more static tha conn , a better target for louis
I meant a better boxer than Conn and bigger and stronger. It counts. Why mention guys who were big and strong yet weren't great boxers?
you said that holmes had the power to hurt louis, and i tell you that louis took shots from much harder punchers than holmes, and you did mention conn, and i tell you that conn was faster than holmes, so stylistically conn was harder for louis . holmes got hurt several times even by average fighters, louis would finish the job
