I guess what Ali said about Marciano would suggest Foreman is going to waste him(Ali).
And we all know Moore was mentally weak..

I don't see anyone there who could beat Moore. He handled all styles, al sizes, and beat better. GUy was ****ing great, that list is a bunch of decent contenders.

I think Wladimir Klitschko is extremely underrated. I've been saying for the last couple of years that he's reached the same level Lennox Lewis achieved, but most people who rate LL highly don't extend the same courtesy to Wlad.
It's ridiculous that he's expected to reign for another 4 or 5 years and rack up another 10 straight wins before he gets his just dues.
He hasn't lost a fight for NINE YEARS now.

Regardless of whether Lennox and Wlad are 'overrated'/'underrated' relative to every other great HW, it much simpler than that when we're comparing one to the other.

Their careers, records, strengths and style even, are enough similar and comparable that it's almost clear-cut that they should be rated close together, IMO.

Lennox being 'physically tougher and technically more complete' could equally be seen as him be less dominant and more inclined to be forced to fight outside of his most advantageous style.
Yes, he developed a great uppercut. But Wlad thus far has totally made the use of an uppercut unnecessary. He hooks off the jab more smoothly than Lennox did, and his right hand is straighter. He's noticeably more consistent in being in tip-top condition. He never got knocked out smiling and loafing like Lennox did against Rahman.
he might not be as rugged and rough and tough, but he hasn't needed to show if he is or not lately.

Lennox's win over Vitali has become rated by retrospect, and then over-rated by retrospect.
I guess Wlad should retire now and become David Haye's promoter, get Haye the unified championship (possible, IMO, and I'm no Haye fan) ... because that way Wlad will acquire more 'greatness' than if he carries on KOing challengers (and even if he KO'd Haye again !).

Opposite to Vitali's subsequent work enhancing Lewis's career, the fact that Holyfield looked **** every since the narrow defeat in the LL rematch hasn't seemed to detract from Lewis wins against him.
Fair enough, I think a faded 1999 Holyfield is better overall than 2011 David Haye (many here don't) or a 2008 Thompson or Ibragimov ... but Wlad's dominance closes the gap.

The likes of Grant, Botha, Mavrovic, McCall, Mercer, Akinwande, Briggs, Tucker, Tua etc. are no better than the men Wlad's been beating, imo.

Both Wlad and LL score high on longevity and consistently winning. Quality of opposition is questionable.
Wlad's been beating contenders up since 2000, went through a bad patch 2003-2004 but he's clearly established himself as a supreme force.

A lot of that is true Unforgiven, but I agree with BE in this essential matter:

    Unforgiven knows **** about box.
Wlad be retie on a wimper and will leave no legacy. He will never take a risky fight.
The guy had to duck Chisora.
    Cut me a break please.

Yeah, but I'd rate Joe Louis above Muhammad Ali.
When people say Muhammad Ali's best wins are clearly better than Louis's I know what they are getting at but I think Louis closes the gap anyway.
Also, lots of people who always rate Joe Louis just one place below Ali acknowledge that it's close.

Also when people say Lennox Lewis's best wins are clear above Wlad's, I think it's a lot less clear cut anyway for a start. 'total name fighters' I haven't counted. Of course, when American HBO and Showtime was behind HW boxers a lot of guys had 'names' who wouldn't have now.

It's true that Wlad has more defences and that you have to acknowledge his dominance in the sense of consecutive wins, but it's also the case that I don't see a single linear win for Wlad, and Lewis had a bunch.

It's a sign of the times that it is arguable how much that matters and that it can be argued that he does have a linear claim, but to me it does and I think he doesn't.

I think Wlad has emerged as the real champion in the last decade.
