I honestly believe that it doesn't matter which of the brothers Floyd has in "charge"
It's purely a psychological thing having his dad back.Floyd is one of the very few fighters who doesn't need to be coached during the fight,as he knows exactly what is needed and exactly what he wants to do.
This is just Snr's monstrous ego getting some exposure again. As Forza said, there's a very good reason Floyd never got hit and it wasn't because his dad was back.
Floyd only really needs coached during a fight if he's in trouble, and it's not like that's a common occurence.I don't think he would listen to anyone when he's in control and nor does he need to,because he's just one of those very rare breed of fighters who know it all.

like everyone said, cotto is the superior fighter.

that being said, he's still got good legs.

This. Roger learned the shell defense later on in his career, he didn't start with it, like SR did. Sr was using that tight Defensive skills in his fight with SRL when SRL and SR were only prospects. SRL would've had a difficult fight on his hands IF SR had any power.

Anyways, if you look at Roger's fight with Vinnie Paz you'll see him usually the shoulder roll, and the announcers will be commenting on how Rogers defense improved a lot. In the post fight interview he says how he has been working with his brother, essentially that his brother been teaching him more tricks.

Cotto is the superior fighter, but Floyd has looked like he loss his legs since marquez. In his ortiz fight, he looked vulnerable too a little -- even though he was beating ortiz, lighting him up in the last two rounds. Also Mayweather has NEVER looked good at 154... he didn't even in his absolute prime against Oscar.

Roger doesnt know what SR knows, and Roger is slowing down due to his diabetes, which he seems to not really care much about, given how he still indulges with food/drinks people of his condition should not be eating.

He looked like he was on roller skates last night. Against Ortiz he didn't look all that vulnerable to me, he might have gotten hit cleanly once or twice but only because he was opening up much more.
