Question is; How much did Marquez' PED strength trainer have to do with that fight ad Marquez was ready to be knocked out? Marquez new strength trainer was the best drug specialist in the world, knows how to cheat on drug tests, look what he did for Marquez and others, and had admitted such in court before, told on his friends to save himself!

You asked me to show you Floyd getting backed up by a southpaw left, and I did.

Actually, in this GIF Judah backs Floyd up with a simple pawing right jab.

It's not rocket science how to put Floyd on the defensive. He's put on the defensive all the time, either by feints or punches. He's the most defensive minded fighter in the sport. He's over-reactive to everything his opponent does. That's why he's so good at not getting hit, but it can also be a liability.

Pac would have no problem putting Floyd on the defensive just by being aggressive or using feints which he's great at.

Floyd has come forward against every left-hander he's fought. It's a stylistic tendency / habit of his.

Marquez had Pacquiao guessing with more then just punches. He used a variety of lateral movements and feints. More importantly he kept pacquiao off balance constantly by pivoting and stepping laterally, something Floyd doesn't do.

Your assuming Paquiao is going to have to cut the ring off. Did Ortiz, Judah, Corley, or Mitchell have to cut the ring off? I already showed you Floyd has a habit of moving in lines and fighting on the front foot. If he uses consistent lateral movement then yes, Pacquiao will need to cut the ring off - but Floyd has never shown that kind of movement before especially not against a southpaw.

Pacquiao doesn't need to be "slick", he just has to be himself. Anything that Zab did in those gifs, Pacquiao can do, and better.

He was mostly on the front foot. Although he did go on the back foot when Ortiz backed up him up several times and even had him on the ropes.

Ortiz and Pacquiao are not alike , and there's levels difference.
Floyd makes minor adjustments but his general habits aren't going to change. Styles make fights yes, and that's the point. It's Floyd's style to lock up on defense and plant his feet. It's his style to move straight back from punches. It's his style to potshot instead of throw combinations. Stylistically, none of these things favor him against Pacquiao .

Floyd lined his head up for the punch, i.e. moved his head into the punch. And the point is he consistently walks towards the left hand. He's done it in every fight.

Marquez fighting off the ropes and Floyd fighting off the ropes are two different things. Marquez is a great combination puncher, and he'll literally fight you off the ropes.

Floyd is a guy who'll sit there behind a tight defense and let you wear yourself out, or he'll sneak in a counter punch or two. Two different styles.

Why would he come forward that much against manny when manny will constantly be lunging in and allow Floyd to settle into his most comfortable element?

manny is the most aggressive southpaw. He still ultimately has to come forward to make the in for his in-n-out ambush style. If he stays too far, he'll get picked off by Mayweather's jab.

Floyd is great at feinting. If the situation calls for some lateral movement, he's capable. How do you think Oscar's jab stopped being so effective?

Some of Floyd's signature punches requires pivoting.
There were many times Ortiz was unable to mount an offense since he didn't know how to cut off the ring. Need I remind you that despite what those four did which you place your hopes in, they still ultimately got their asses beat in the center of the ring by Floyd.

Then he'll lose even worse than most people are expecting. Being himself means lunging in, crossing his feet, and walking into counters.

Yet your arguments are mostly based on what Zab Judah, a want to be slick southpaw, did. manny's come forward temperament is much closer to Ortiz than it'll ever be Zab's.

Both Morales and Marquez were able to potshot then get away safely against manny.

Morales found himself on the ropes a few times against manny as he moved straight back. He's no ATG rope fighter like Floyd nor was he as conscious about constant laterally moving like Marquez, but he still beat manny.

Potshotting works against manny. Do I need to post that gif of Marquez putting manny onto his during the third round of the fourth fight? It took a single right and no combo.
There was no combination involved when Marquez was along the ropes and killed manny. It was strictly one shot, one kill with the right hand. Floyd's favorite punch.

What's manny going to do but get hit when Floyd lays a counter trap with his back near the ropes and then springs away? manny doesn't have the patience and discipline to turn down this invitation, and he can't cut a ring off to prevent Floyd from springing away.

Slickstar I find it highly unlikely Floyd lands a right like Marquez did on Manny. Marquez steps and leans leftward and torques his body into an overhand right. Manny ran into it, but because Marquez positioning himself towards Manny's side. Floyd wouldn't be in a position to do that since he's taller and prefers to lean towards his right. That KO is not going to be replicated. Morales did something similar, except he dogged Manny down on the inside and ****ed him up that way.

If crossing his feet, walking into counters were such a consistent problem, he would have lost to a slew of fighters aside from Marquez in the last 6 years. The right hand isn't just there for Floyd, he has to set it up, because Manny steps rightwards. For the same reason Bradley's right hand was nowhere to be found. And Floyd can, but so far he's done it by walking southpaws down, so it's a bit of a question mark. "Potshotting" without setting up the angle won't work; any fighter so far who has stepped into their jab without turning has eaten consistent straight lefts, it's a common Pac trick.

bump because Floyd showed plenty of advancements against southpaws last night

flawlessly disappeared off the ropes to regain the center of the ring. Guerrero probably landed one left while Floyd was on the ropes for the whole fight near the early parts of the second round. manny, with his temperament, would be unable to resist following Floyd around.

He jab and hooked beautifully to make the southpaw lead hand useless.

Then he displayed tons of movement and even some lateral

    I thought you'd bump this.

His lateral movement was towards his right again after neutralizing the jab and knowing nothing could come after he wouldn't see coming after it. This was almost a replica of the Ortiz tactics. Guerrero had no lateral movement himself, no explosive advances, and threw very few lead straight lefts, the opposite of Pacquiao.

Explosive advances while chasing a counter pucnher around = getting ktfo. You cant pressure Floyd with your face and just bombing away. PAC has no jab.. Cannot cut off the ring and has no defense for the right hand and he is impatient. All would lead to him getting T'd off on.

A southpaw jab won't get you many places with Floyd, it's not the same as an orthodox jab.

His defense for the right hand is circling with his lead foot on the outside. It's worked on everyone but Marquez, who circles left.

I don't care to get into this right now, read the rest of the thread if you care to comment.

One most of his opponents are sluggers. They don't time, move or counter punch. This is Manny's element. They kept him from guys who move and box because its boring and it doesn't sell. And no Floyd would never land a shot like Marquez but he would land a hell of a lot right hand counters that would bust his face up and he would never see coming. But to what you said here, we don't see it more because Manny doesn't fight sweet science guys. Right now JMM is the best technical fighter he faced. If Oscar wasn't shot it would've been him.

Guerrero was never in range. Floyd's footwork was almost flawless(he did back straight up and get cornered a few times)

Pac is only giving lateral movement when he is being backed up, and is not exactly fighting off the back foot. Enough to get out of range then come straight forward again. He was coming in straight lines against Marquez 2x) and Bradley. Never cutting them off and getting outmaneuvered consistently. Floyd would do much better than Marquez did because he doesn't need to be in range to get off and doesn't need Pac to lead to win. He can get off first consistently and outland a straight line Pac all night. Last night proved it even more for me. He owns lefties because he can easily take the jab away by catching it and returning with his own.

Bradley with 2 bad feet outboxxed Pac, Mayweather would beat the brakes off of Pac.

Bradley wasn't a pure slugger, Barrera wasn't a pure slugger. The same jab that troubled Floyd over 12, Pac was able to time and counter early.

Not all "sweet science fighters" are the same. That's the point of the thread.

If Shotter Shane Oldsley could make Manny miss for that many rounds with basic movement, Floyd's movement, potshotting and straight right counters/left hook would just destroy Pacquiao. We can make up sabremetrics and pretend a boxing match is Sherlock Holmes movie or a Dragon Ball Z anime all day but none of that changes Manny's glaring technical flaws that Mayweather would easily exploit.
