Im not sure mayweather will be too keen to move up to 154,at least not yet so maybe devon alexander next But if so alexander will be easy meat for floyd once he has worked him out Can anyone beat him at 147 I dont think so but the 2 who have the best chance for me are timothy bradley and still manny pacquiao Anybody out there think someone can beat him at welterweight
If Pacquiao can ever get back to the form he showed against Cotto I think he'd beat Floyd. Don't think he will though, unfortunately. It was an absolutely stunning performance, I couldn't sleep afterwards. As brilliant as Floyd has been down the years, he's never come close to matching that. And never will.
Pacquiao's time has been and gone I'm afraid. There was a time, around that Cotto fight, that I was sure he would have beaten Floyd. At 140 or 147, I don't see anyone unfortunately. Alvarez has the biggest chance I imagine but even still, I can't see him troubling Mayweather yet
Pacquiao had a run of 4 or 5 fights when he was the most complete fighter ive seen in my boxing life Box fighter supreme his sense of timing range and power were special I cant compare him to fighters of the 80s and 70s because i wasnt there but at his peak he was the best ive seen Saying that mayweather is the most effective ive ever seen
No one, Bradley would be an easy fight for Floyd because Bradley is not awkward at all Pacquiao would have the best chance at landing a big shot but he would lose most of the rounds
Forrest, Spinks, Wright, Williams but present day this boy would give him hell!! This content is protected
I think the Margarito fight took a lot out of Pacquiao. Stupid decision by Arum to allow that.... Cheato ought to have been in with someone like Carl Froch, not a midget of a welter in Manny. Still, the first five rounds and 99% of the 6th against Marquez last time was the best he's looked since the Cotto execution.
I agree with your comments about the Margarito fight. At first viewing, it was a simple one sided beatdown but Pacquiao took a lot of punishment that night. Reports after the bout were that Pacquiao was lying in bed in the foetal position for days because of the damage Margarito inflicted, and I don't think Pacquiao has physically been the same since. That said, I also agree he looked good against Marquez. He wasn't at his best that night but I thought he looked close to it.
I still think Pacquiao beats him but thats more of my fanboy side coming through, his performance last night was a defensive masterclass though, after the Cotto fight i was sure his legs had gone and he had lost a step, styles make fights though i suppose. Amir Khan has never been beaten at long range or for pace and i think he is the toughest opponent for Mayweather.
