Wladimir has finally reached his peak. Current Wlad vs Peak Lewis.

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Stylesmakefight, May 5, 2013.

  1. Wladimir is at the peak of his powers right now.. His last 4 fights has shown us a dazzling display of masterful offense+defense abilities.

So how will he do against the Lewis of Morrison/Golota/Holyfield I/Tua/Grant fights?

    Lennox Lewis:
    Height: 6'5
    Weight: 243-249
    Reach: 85

    Wladimir Klitschko
    Height: 6'6
    Weight: 243-249
    Reach:81

Lewis's offensive arsenal is much more impressive in terms of versatility. He goes to the body a lot more and throws combinations, have a inside game(upper cuts) and is very physical. He can box or brawl as proven multiple times against good opposition.

Wladimir seem to have a technical edge although not by much, he is more cautious and will not take as many risks. He got a more focused jab and a right hand that is at least on par if not better. Although in both areas the difference is so minimal it is rendered almost pointless.

Lewis fought a much wider range of punchers and has the overall stronger resume. Both showed heart in various fights.. although the fights Wladimir showed the most heart in.. he ended up losing anyways.........(Sanders,Purrity,Brewster) the fights Lewis showed the most heart in.. he prevailed... Briggs.Mason.Bruno.Mercer.Vitali.

So who takes the battle of the 2 greatest super heavyweights of all times?

felix, i have two questions for you: why do you constantly talk about the klitschkos/lewis and what's so difficult about distinguishing between has/have, takes/take and so on (especially since english is your native language)?

This kind of poll will only be fair when Wlad is long retired as Lewis has been. Respect for Lewis grew in his absence from the ring, as it will for Wlad. There are just too many passionate haters ****ing up the results at the moment since the man is still active.

No, too many people can distinguish between a very good fighter and an ATG fighter. I dont see what the knock is to be regarded as 2nd best when compared to Lennox Lewis, no shame in that.

Wlad isn't a really good fighter he just faces bum after bum. Lewis was a great fighter and would knock Wlad out worse than he knocked out Andrew Golota.

I agree that Wlad will get more respect after he retires much like Lewis and Holmes did.

But very few people would ever pick Wlad in a fight against Lewis. Lewis is simply the more complete and tested fighter. I can't see Wlad being able to out box Lewis for 12 rounds without taking some big shots and Lewis hits as hard if not harder then anyone Wlad has fought.

A Lewis KO victory is inevitable. Wlad's best chance would be to try and KO Lewis before he get's KO'ed but he is too cautious and doesn't take advantage of enough counter punching opportunities to get the KO before being KO'ed himself.

Lewis is the best bet, actually prime Lewis is the best bet regardless which hw you put infront of him.
Maybe in the future we will get someone, but not right now.

Wlad getting more respect when he retires is a load of nonsense. Big difference between Lewis and Wlad.

Lewis was fought on the world stage and was selling PPV when he was active.
British commentators for his fights used always claim he was a great and gave him his due props.
