Mares is legit but Donaire stops him, dont let the Rigo fight make you think Donaire isnt legit

    50/50 fight.

Donaire loves guys who come forward. Mares love to fight aggressively against better boxers and that will be his plan. It's a match made in boxing heaven.

That's cause you're hard to take seriously as a poster. But you may have been onto something here, though hard to tell off their last opponents.

Btw, you know who disagrees with you? Mares' promoter. They keep paying him peanuts, just paid him 325k. That's half of 11 fight Rigo's last purse . And they were willing to pay Donaire 3m :rofl

I guess the converse of this would be that Donaire's promoter does agree with him. After all, they were willing to turn down 3m to instead have Donaire lose against 11 fight Rigo.

Mares showed something different in the Ponce fight,he boxed beautifully at times and showed great hand speed but was also willing to bang with Ponce and get the better of him.I think it would be a really close fight,I'm leaning towards Mares based on their last two performances but someone else said it too, you'd be foolish to underestimate Donaire on the back of the Rigo fight.

Or maybe Arum doesn't give a **** about Donaire to break out of his blanket policy on GBP. So what's your thoughts on their 3m offer? A simple bluff, knowing Arum won't take it? How do you suppose Mares feels knowing an 11 fight dude with 23 fans is getting paid twice as much?

Mares seems more at home @ 126.I can see Mares winning by TKO here if DOnaire can't create offense, he can get out punched and out boxed, can't just rely on 1 shot.

Mares UD or TKO. The Mexican has improve tremendous at 126, Donaire looks average.

Mares has improved a bunch, but Ponce is a far cry from Rigo. Donaire looked slow vs Rigo, but he's tons faster than PDL, faster than Mares probably

If the 3m offer is treated as real, it reflects just as much on Top Rank not caring about their fighters as GB. Further, if it's taken as legit, then it is evidence that Mares' promoter thinks he is on Donaire's level in terms of quality, which is how I took tilang's point anyway. And if it's treated as fake, then it can hardly be used as a reason for Mares to claim promotional neglect.

Also everyone agrees Rigondeaux was ridiculously overpaid against Donaire. I fail to see why that one occurrence should be compelling evidence that Mares is underpaid, particularly for an undercard fight.

Mares loves to drop his head when he's about to throw combinations. He's a little vulnerable to one of Donaire's best punches... the uppercut.

Schaefer said Arum offered them $1mill and called that "low ball". And Mares made $325K to fight PDL? Schaefer sucks at arithmetic.
