Spoon was kinda lazy but very talented. He could box a bit and that right hand was where he received the "Terrible" moniker. He kayoed many a heavyweight with that right handed missile.

Ruddock stormed onto the scene by poleaxing Michael Dokes with his hybrid uppercut/hook. I give Spoon the edge in chin and durability although both faltered at different times. Ruddock was stopped by Tommy Morrison in 1995 and Witherspoon was shocked by Bonecrusher Smith in 1986. Ruddock showed good durability against Tyson, particularly in their second fight in 1991.

The fight: Would be a treat for the fans. Ruddock and Witherspoon would respected eachother's weapons early on. In the 3rd round Spoon sees an opening and dumps Ruddock onto the canvas with his laser-guided right hand. Ruddock gets up and receives an eight count. He never fully recovers though and is battered into a sixth round tko.

    Witherspoon TKO 6 Ruddock

I think Tim wins, but takes it a couple of rounds earlier.

I like Tim Witherspoon by a stoppage or a decision. Not sure I agree that this would end early as some have already proposed. But a young Tim would have a lot more to offer than the aged versions of Smith, Dokes, Weaver and Page did. He was awkward. Hard to hit clean. Had a pretty good set of whiskers and pretty good power.

Id pick Witherspoon to win by late stoppage. Ruddock would be dangerous early on and Witherspoon would have to mess him about a bit but by the middle rounds the better skills of Witherspoon would be starting to tell. Ruddock would get tired, start taking to many punches and be stopped.

Good fight, Witherspoon was probably more talented but suscepitble to being hit by Ruddock. I would lean towards Spoon by late round stoppage.

hhaha oh man i love this fantasy match, a peak motivated spoon would show as much overrated was ruddock, spoon would make him look stupid and would stop ruddock late.(wow i am surprised, every guy picked spoon by late stoppage)

sort of like Witherspoon and Bruno. That left hook would not come close to Tim.

I think a late round stoppage is possible, but for the most part I have to agree with you.. Tim Witherspoon was a heavy hitter, but not a KO artist. A lot of his best prime wins came via decision, and a lot of those guys weren't any better than Ruddock or certainly not by a long shot.. Donoven took a still dangerous Tyson 12 rounds and KO'd a still serviceable Dokes with one punch, so he needs to be considered a legitimate threat in this fight. In a scheduled 12 rounder, I pick Spoon by a decision in a bout where he wins perhaps 8 rounds 4. Again a stoppage is not out of the question, but I wouldn't bet money on it.

...And all this is assuming that we see a well trained and motivated Witherspoon, which is another thing that can't be banked on...

I think the 'spoon who beat Bonecrusher in 1985 would break Ruddock down and knock him out or TKO somewhere in rounds 7-10.

'spoon would be hard to nail with that Ruddock left, but I think Ruddock would be quite open to being hit with 'spoon's right hand.

Tim knocks out Razor in about 8 rounds.Solid chin, very good hitter, and decent boxer who had his best year as a pro around 1985.Razor would be dealing with a fighter who is above him in ability, so he not going to give Tim as much problems as many thinks.

Yes. And it would be late stoppage most likely. Tim had the power to KO many big guys early it the fight, ha had Holmes badly hurt in 9th round, he KO'd Tillis in 1, even at 45 he destroyed David Bostice in 1 round and Darrol Wilson in 2 rds.

Ruddock has to avoid those shots to last the distance.
