Easier said than done, You can't afford to be looking at PBF's feet he's too much of a sharpshooter and you will get hit with a shot you don't see looking at his feet and hurt. PBF is very alert in the ring he will notice you looking at his feet and make you pay.
I can't say agree with that , joe lewis use to make it a habit of noticing where his opponents place their feet and shoulders.
Was about to say this. Most guys don't look that low while fighting Duran tried in the Leonard rematch
if you are stupid enough to focus on his foot...you are going to eat a lot more than his right hand. also...he stays on the ball of his right foot.
That because most trainer game plan to beat floyd is too apply pressure and throwing a 100 punches per round. which hasn't worked since 2002 yet everyone thinks is the key to beating floyd . Floyd has proven he can handle south paws. He's proven he can handle pressure fighters He's proven he can handle fighters that are faster then he is . he's proven he can handle younger fighters . So we can rule out bigger, stronger, faster, younger. So the only thing left is trying to beat his style . I just think the raising of his right heel before throwing his right hand is just one of the keys , not the complete answer.
Floyd is a type of fighter where he sees his opposites feet, hands and shoulders . So your saying floyd is the only fighter that is capable of that skill ? What is stupid is everyone thinking that pressure , pressure and more pressure is the key to beating floyd. I mean really how stupid is that to follow the same failed plan over and over again, only to get the same results an L on their record.
I understand you noticed something and thought you would point it out. Nothing wrong with that even though we disagree.:good
Pressure can work. There's no one good enough to apply that kind of pressure though. Floyd's toughest fights were against guys applying pressure
Jesus I can't believe this thread has gone on for this long on a BOXING website and not one person has pointed out, it is exactly how you are supposed to throw your right hand. He's turning into his punches, exactly what you should be doing. If you don't turn your back heel when you throw with your power hand then chances is are your probably going to get caught reaching in. By turning that heel you allow yourself to be longer and keep your chin back, not to mention get more speed and pop on the punch. You twist the heel and you will also be able to get that hand back a lot quicker.
:deal Defensively you should not be looking at your opponents feet anyway...some of you guys really do need to get your asses in a gym and do some sparring ffs.
