What was the last fight that headlined a ppv where both fighters were coming off of a loss?

  2. And I'll counter with:

When was the last time 2 fighters coming off a loss would actually sell on ppv?

Are the losses the only thing keeping you from buying it?

    good question

People will be watching this fight for the event in itself

  7. I'm not aware of another example... which leads back to my first question:

When's the last time 2 fighters coming off losses would actually still sell??

Same answer for both questions: NEVER.

I was thinking De La Hoya-Mayorga, as Oscar was coming off a loss, but, Mayorga had won his previous fight.

This was a small PPV, but, Mayorga-Vargas fought on PPV with both of them coming off of losses.
Same with Erik Morales. I believe his first comeback fight against Alfaro was on PPV and both had lost their previous.

I'm sure there are other smaller examples as well.

Marquez officially lost the 3rd Pacquiao match and Pacquiao officially lost the Bradley fight. So, JMM-Pacquiao 4.

Tyson came close. Danny Williams had just lost his fight, and Tyson had just come off a loss to Lewis, but he fought a one-round tune-up fight in between so it technically doesn't count. Not sure if that was on PPV though.
