lads went to the stadium on Sunday.

I have never been so angry in my life the IABA are a complete joke I would be surprised if there were more than 100 people there

This was meant to be the "home coming"

first of all the even should have been held last year october/november to capitalise on the Olympic Success.

The IABA asked for us to give Platinum One a round of applause I abstained from this I thought the whole day was a disgrace.

No disrespect to the cards Brian Peters with Katie but I would much rather watch the contests between the mens senior team with the likes of Nevin, Ward, Conlon and Barnes which are truly at the top of the tree in their respective divisions tickets went for 20 euro for the most expensive ones (which is a bargain IMO) but Peters is able to sell of 4,000 seat theaters with an inferior product (then you throw katie on the card with the guys i think peters could do big attendance numbers)

We all know peters is the best promoter in Ireland I dont see why the corpses at the IABA can't swallow their pride and work with him.

I have never been so annoyed at a card Our Olympians deserved better than this it was a bloody disgrace.

Paddy Barnes looked great and out classed his opponent (he was fighting at flyweight)

Mick Conlon also did a job on his foe at Bantam and by all accounts made easier work of it than nevin did on Friday.

Jason Quigley looked good as well and invested in a lot of body shots seems like hes got a taste for the Pros

Was disapointed with Tommy McCarthy to be honest I remember before Joe Ward came on the Senior scene I was convinved that he was just a hair away from taking egans mantle at Light Heavy every year he was getting closer and closer

not sure what happened but I hope it was just a bad night at the office for the boy..

That's a solid opponent if you ask me. His two losses were close on paper and one was against the guy Frampton's team are apparently aiming for, Romero.

Guessing it is, the trunks, boxing style and the face on him when his name was announced like it was said wrong.
But New York is full of cocky Italians who could share that name and box.

    Nice scrap.

Im nearly sure it is, not too many Malignaggi boxers from New York, looks veyr much like Paulie in his face to. Both guys would have been 17 or 18 here so, very good win for Dempsey looking back!

What did Dempsey do in his boxing career after this? Never heard of him before. Was he a senior boxer in the early 2000's ?
