We all know Amir Khan has decent skills and speed, we also know he has a glass chin. My question is, can he be trained to have a stronger chin, taught to take a punch without going into baby giraffe mode? If it is possible to strengthen his chin and punch resistance i think he could turn his career around and be a tough challenge for anyone in the light/light welterweight divisions. If he could curb his hyper activity, work on his defense and develop much better punch resistance i actually think he could give mayweather a run for his money. The question is, is it even possible strengthen his chin/punch resistance?

Chuvalo talked about chewing gum and doing neck bridges

thought I imagine Khan gets rocked by behind the ear and temple punches with have an effect on brain and balance and have nothing to do with being tough or strong

some parts of punch resistance can be improved and some cant

that said I feel if any great fighter eats a flush shot to the temple or behind the ear even they will go down most likely

Even though is chin was never that good at all, I think it is more of a mental thing with Khan now and he won't ever take a decent punch without going into panic mode nowadays.

Maybe now a move to 147 will help his chin, Khan been at 140 for a long time he maybe having trouble cutting down to 140 now.

Well, Ariza worked on building his legs up and it didn't work.....

Hunter worked on his Neck and Traps and that didn't work.......

So what does that tell you? It tells you that you can't train a Chin. You either have one or you don't. Khan has a Glass Jaw. Glass Jaws exist in Boxing.

What about his average boxing skills?

    What about his boxing IQ?

this is what he should be working on, not trying to build punch resistance :deal

strengthening the muscle all around the area and all over is relatively simple, however i thin he should focus on slipping punches and his defence.
lennox got proper knocked out by rahman, but never made the same mistake a again.
nigel benn rebuilt himself after losing to watson, again not the best chin but it didnt limit him..
    gotta think laterally :)

'Chin' used in boxing is just a term attributed to punch resistance. I suspect Khan's problem is that he has a much less dense brain (irrefutable when listening to him speak) and an excess of cerebral fluid making even light punchers such as Diaz being able to put him on ***** street.

It's not the chin, it's the brain that shakes making Khan wobbly. They need to put some bundle inside Khans skull make it tougher. Bump it and paint it and put primer on it.

More weight on them skinny legs of his worries me... When he goes jelly he has more weight to support.

+ The harder punchers at 147
    + The losing some speed
