Huh? Benn had a mandatory challenge to contest in H.Wharton, and Nunn fought as chief support on the same bill so the UK fans could see him up-close because Benn-Nunn was signed and sealed as a unification summer match, provided they both won (which was seen as formality for Nunn). Nunn lost, though, to Steve Little.

    Well no one won!

Later on Benn was scheduled to meet him, but Nunn goes and blows the Little fight.

    As atberry mentions...

Nunn McCallum's level was a little higher than Benn or Graham. Nunn or McCallum would not have been knocked down by Doug Dewitt. Not saying Benn is not good, but those guys wouldn't have been knocked down by Dewitt.

Nunn got dropped by worse fighters than Dewitt.

Yes and James Toney took care of Little. I give credit to Benn for taking on McClellan but let's not pretend he and Eubank were keen on facing Nunn, Toney and Roy Jones.

    As atberry says...

As for Toney and Jones, are you nuts? The money both would of made fighting prime James or Roy meant both Benn and Eubank would of loved the chance of fighting either one.

Jones was not keen on coming to the UK (I understand the Olympic robbery thing, but Jones would of still been a very warm favourite to of beaten either). Toney lost to RJJ before a fight with either could be made.

Actually Jones WAS keen on coming to the UK, said it was his dream ever since he was ringside at Benn-Watson in Finsbury Park, because of the atmosphere and razzmatazz. So he said in a Boxing Monthly interview. He also said in that same interview that he saw Eubank as the one fighter out of all the middleweights and super-middleweights who would give him real problems.

Eubank was not known for fighting the very best. James Toney insulted the both them yet they choose not to take him on. Roy Jones and Toney faced each other because they feared no one ditto Mike McCallum.

Nunn was the best of the bunch-they just couldnt keep him away from his hometown which everytime he went he got into trouble.

Nunn-Toney fight? Nunn was beating the **** out of James then he got tired and Toney got him.

Watch Nunn before he won the title and after he won and hes not the same -he was very badly disciplined and it cost him in the end.
