Haymon is good at his job. No one knew who Trout was but Al made him a title shot and the guy is all over New Mexico right now. People should remember this is a career. The guy's still fighting for Christ's sake and should be able to make more as time goes on not just in boxing either.
There in lies the problem with Boxing which most know. But this would not be a problem if there was 1 title and the ****ing Promoters and TV networks didnt **** fighters. The way you fix this is by Networks paying bigger money for Title fights and ****ing off the whole PPV thing and Promoters getting like what a manager of a Pro athlete would get like 15-18%. Not the other way around but this starts with the government and the TV networks.
Because he fights at home and puts bums in seats this is why when USA fans argue about they never have fought in the USA so they aint ****. Well all the Europeans guys and even the Australian's etc etc make twice the money they do fighting in the USA. Ill give you an example Danny Green for his 2009 fight with Dominguez made $200k US , then 4 months later at home fighting Roy Jones Jr he made over $3 million australian. And he even stated that the worst pay day he had in his last 10 or so fights was the fight in the US. **** for the the Jones fight they sold out Acer Arena in Sydney which seats 21,000.
So, how reliable are the net worth figures mentioned in this thread? Do you folks think the figures are reliable, in general? BTW, the figure for Trout seems about likely, especially since he was virtually unknown before the Cotto fight. And IIRC, he only got $240K for the Cotto bout.
:deal Factoring debt and all assets, $500,000 is nothing to sneeze at. The average family would be lucky to have a net worth of $100,000 let alone $500,000.
As a guy who works in lending, I can say some are fairly accurate, many are not. Keep in mind this figure is for year ending 2012, so it does not include the Canelo purse.
I have one question: What kind of low life keyboard warrior piece of garbage makes fun of a man for not having more money?
his fault....he need to become a villain or get with haymon....thats the only 2 ways blk boxers can eat ask ward how much being the humble professional guy will get u
If you are making 100,000 per fight, that's good money. There are allot of NFL players who only make 300,000 a year and have zero sponsorship. Boxing economically and business wise is different to team sports. When you are a individualize athlete you are basically self employed. Nobdoy is paying Usain Bolt a weekly wage, nobody is paying Tiger Woods a weekly wage. They have to win their money from competition, and generate money through endorsements just like a business. It's especially hard in boxing. You cannot compare individual sports to team sports. Usain Bolt is employed by nobody, he is the boss. Kobe Byrant is not the boss.
I don't disagree with anything you said. It makes complete sense and is just factual. All I'm saying is compared to what you give up (how many boxers have college degrees, the late onset of Brain disease from concussive blows, paying your entire team) it seems to be VERY low benefit from it. Like if you had a kid would you rather them go into the NBA NFL or boxing?
